People Who Recovered From COVID-19 Should Receive Only 1 Dose of the mRNA Vaccine: Study

Amid reports of vaccine shortages occurring around the world, a new study (pdf) suggests that people who have already had COVID-19 should get only one shot of the mRNA vaccine to avoid possible unnecessary adverse reactions and free up supplies for those who need it more.
The study, which hasn’t been peer-reviewed, evaluated vaccine reactions after receiving the first dose in 231 individuals—83 with a past infection of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus and 148 who had never had an infection.
Researchers found that both groups equally reported experiencing pain, swelling, and redness at the injection site at the time of vaccination, which improved in a couple of days. However, people with a prior infection experienced more severe systemic reactions—fever, headache, chills, muscle or joint pain, and fatigue—than those who had never been infected.
“We also noted that vaccine reactogenicity [expected reactions] after the first dose is substantially more pronounced in individuals with pre-existing immunity akin to side-effects reported for the second dose in the phase III vaccine trials [of both Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna],” the researchers stated.
A severe systemic reaction to a vaccine “prevents daily activity,” according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Overall, there was a higher report of local and systemic adverse reactions in the vaccine group compared to placebo group in both the Moderna (pdf) and the Pfizer-BioNTech (pdf) phase 3 studies that continue to collect data on vaccine safety and efficacy.
The study also looked at immune system’s response to the vaccines in 109 people: 41 who had recovered from COVID-19 and 68 who’ve never had the disease, and found those in the recovered group had “10-20 times higher” antibody levels than those who had never been infected.
More studies are needed to further investigate the study’s findings due to the small number of participants.

“It happens...”
Yes it does. But the feds are selling this vaccines as the final straw in the effectiveness of the 19th version of a SARS virus. They are also talking about boosters.
But the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said roughly 40 percent of Americans with COVID-19 are asymptomatic. But they are able to pass the illness. And of course we probably can only guess as to the amount because they may never be treated, but they herd with us.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html
A dysfunctional immune system, experts say, is one reason that COVID-19 has proven more deadly in older adults and people with certain pre-existing conditions. But it is not always that the immune system is weak. Sometimes the body’s immune response is powerful but so out-of-control that it ends up killing COVID-19 patients.
https://now.tufts.edu/articles/how-body-battles-covid-19
According to the CDC, if you can believe them, there are 26.9M cases active we know about.
https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1KMZB_enUS609US618&ei=Z8MeYNCsLcfS-gSQ356IAg&q=total+number+of+c+19+cases+in+the+usa+at+this+time&oq=total+number+of+c+19+cases+in+the+usa+at+this+time&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQAzIHCCEQChCgATIFCCEQqwI6BwgAEEcQsAM6CAghEBYQHRAeUINWWIpjYOhoaAFwAngAgAG6AogB5AmSAQgxMS4yLjAuMZgBAKABAaoBB2d3cy13aXrIAQTAAQE&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwiQ_JbJ1tXuAhVHqZ4KHZCvByEQ4dUDCA0&uact=5
If that is 60% of the cases as guessed at by the experts(?), then that leaves about 18M people out there that are communicable and don’t know it. And more important is we don’t know who they are either. But each time one of those 18M gets contact they can spread the virus. And since it is capable of reinfecting, and with the amount of people involved on this, and everyone in the game with the acknowledgement of booster needs, which is going to be just as much a problem getting to the public as the current process, your guess is as good as mine as to how many will die the second time around. And the CDC is still trying to figure out how many and who on that topic by their own admittance. Right now they admit to finding them. And as long as there can be reinfections, there is no light at the end of the tunnel because everyone is playing the game immunized or not. And that’s a lot of people in the loop. This will change our lives and our society. And trust me, it was no accident.

I was tested for antibodies 90 days post illness, I plan on being restested at 180 days and 360 days.

How was the second round compared to 1st. We went through it in November.

Since you have ZERO historical data on mRNA based vaccines, your opinions are no better than Kamala Harris’s opinions on how to create more middle class jobs.
People should believe more in major drug company’s research regarding vaccines than anonymous bloggers seeking attention.
Include me in the category of people who have more faith in major drug companies than any individual blogger.

Do you have any links to data showing deaths of people who were vaccinated? The vaccine program is barely a month old. Before resorting to conjectures, can we wait a few more months until more data surfaces?

It was not as “heavy” for either of us, but in some ways it was just as bad. The progression is the darnedest pain in the ass, as it just doesn’t actually progress, but sits in a holding pattern for weeks.
You will recognize it if you get it again BTW - it sort of has a “signature”, for lack of a better explanation.
We felt very CRUMMY, but not quite as bad as the last time. We slept more (better that than being awake feeling CRUMMY). Hubs had the pneumonia for certain this time (confirmed), and probably last time - I did not, either time.
Still feel lousy and tired after more than a full month - HOWEVER, the last time I wasn’t nearly as able to be up and about after the same amount of time. It took me about seven weeks to get where I could be on my feet at work for even three hours. I could do it now - except my employer closed the shop permanently while I was in week 2. Covid didn’t cause my demise, but it did kill that business - and my job.

I would say that you are somewhat foolish and naive to put that much faith in Big Pharma, especially when they have liability immunity in what they are pushing.

Thanks for sharing. My husband was pretty sick in November. I was fatigued, but never as sick as he was. I definitely knew going in how to care for him and get the meds he needed to overcome it. He has asthma and I hope we don’t get it again. Sorry about your job.
To: ThisLittleLightofMine
Thank you. I have asthma also, and another chronic lung thing - plus wicked WICKED post nasal drip. I was very surprised that I didn’t end up getting hit in the lungs - either time. In fact, this time - well, all of my chronic lung/cough issues actually stopped, or very nearly so. That was the single surprising thing about this bout - well and the way I went through fever. LOTS of fever this time.
The first time, I didn’t have much trouble with cough/lungs - just a couple of days a bit iffy, but never in trouble. This time, that stuff actually got BETTER for me. How weird is that? I’m still not back to my old level of cough - and I hope it stays this way!
I’ll miss my job, but the owner didn’t know/understand that type of retail at all, and just thought it should be a successful business because he was 3rd gen local business person (conceited dude) - but to branch out to something new ... well, he just traded on his family name. Which didn’t work. Meh, I liked my schedule, the customers, and the proximity to home. There is much I will not miss about it though. Except knowing that I have a job - that hurts.

We have friends who got it when this released virus first came ashore.
They give blood, on a regular basis, and test for antibodies, each time.
So far....nearly one year out....they still have antibodies....and, have not really changed their lifestyles....still go out with friends/family, dinners, etc.
So far, all is good.

I take it that your answer was code for, “I can’t prove you wrong and am too lazy to do any research, so I’ll compare you to Kamala Harris to prove you’re wrong”
I bet you never looked up “Transfection”, which is the method the mRNA vaccines use - “Transfection can result in unexpected morphologies and abnormalities in target cells.”
The technique is new for it’s current purpose and has zero track record to analyze - if you’re comfortable with that, have at it - I’ll still try to hold out for the Johnson and Johnson “old technology” vax.

My doctor asked me also,I said no to the vaccine because it’s a vaccine never given to humans for a genetically altered virus developed using Gain Of Function Research.
It’s not a vaccine ,they are genetically altering your genes and all bets are off in the future on what this so called vaccine will cause to your body
To: ballplayer
It’s not a vaccination. It’s mass experimentation.

Some earlier studies have shown that people who survive a COVID-19 infection continue to produce protective antibodies against key parts of the virus for several months. But how long those antibodies last and whether they are enough to protect against reinfection have remained open questions.
In search of answers, researchers led by David Eyre, University of Oxford, England, looked to more than 12,000 healthcare workers at Oxford University Hospitals from April to November 2020. At the start of the study, 11,052 of them tested negative for antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, suggesting they hadn’t had COVID-19. But the other 1,246 tested positive for antibodies, evidence that they’d already been infected.
After this initial testing, all participants received antibody tests once every two months and diagnostic tests for an active COVID-19 infection at least every other week. What the researchers discovered was rather interesting. Eighty-nine of the 11,052 healthcare workers who tested negative at the outset later got a symptomatic COVID-19 infection. Another 76 individuals who originally tested negative for antibodies tested positive for COVID-19, despite having no symptoms. The findings, which were posted as a pre-print on medRxiv, suggest that acquired immunity from an initial COVID-19 infection offers protection against reinfection for six months. Then you can play again.
The amount from their study indicated 165 of 11,000 went at it again. So you are never safe from the ability to pass the illness and without the vaccine and the boosters being recommended, you aren’t safe from getting it again. That made the study people 2% re-infect. That would encompass with a 2% average of 33M people in the US approximately 660T people would repeat continually after 6 months after getting the illness without the vaccine and they’re not sure how long the vaccine will work, so that number is an unknown. But it is a number.
My problem is I don’t settle for being told it is the answer when it is just a postponement. And there are a certain amount of people that can’t use the vaccines so they become the factories. If they find a vaccine that kills it, period, great. But they can’t and they are forcing us to settle for collateral damage both with the possible catching of the virus and also a reaction to the shot with little follow up using automobile window injections sites trusting forms and passing those shot on. About the same way they vaccinate cattle. And I guess there is an accepted amount of collateral damage there, too. But are many of the people that get it again accepting it. Doubt it. And it was politics that created the euphoria. (Used car)

As I’ve previously mentioned....we know of a couple who were infected w/this virus, at the beginning of last year.
Neither had serious complications....just aches/pains and loss of taste/smell, for a period.
They’ve continued their outgoing lifestyles....of going out to dinners w/family and friends, parties, etc.
Neither has become reinfected, that they know of.
(Two of their kids have since become infected, and have also recovered.)
They donate blood, regularly, and are tested for the antibodies, each time.
So far....almost one year later....they are both still testing positive for the antibodies.
