I think we need majority support from the House (not going to happen) and also majority support from the Senate (it could happen).
They report their result to the VP and (some people say) the VP can accept or reject. If he rejects he could send it back to the state legislature for re-certification. Some people say this is improper, impossible, inconceivable and will never happen. But not everyone feels that way.

When he goes to prison, that may change. It may take a law but if this rolls out as Q has said, I don’t believe that will be a hurdle. I can lose my mil pension, no reason for Fed pension to be different.
I could listen to the objection 100 times and never get tired of it.

In his first act, it appears Pence submitted to Pelosi's direction to remove Representatives and Senators from the floor, where they might participate, to the gallery, where they cannot.
The process enabled is thus is being conducted without a quorum present... and with the majority of Representatives and Senators denied the ability to participate. They are not present, because they have been excluded from any ability even to raise procedural issues.
Scripted for purpose, certainly... but outside the law and the Constitution, denying participation, silencing the voices not just of the Representatives, but of those they represent.Whatever result they deliver under this structure, it will not be valid.
