A Supreme Court clerk reports that shouting and conflict between the justices of the nation's highest court occurred on Friday, Dec. 11, as the court was deciding to reject a Texas lawsuit challenging presidential election results in four key swing states.

The only reason they riot is because liberals in charge let them. Roberts is a liberal. I don’t understand why riots are such a threat. Good grief -if true.

I find it difficult to believe that the Supreme court justices would be dumb and naive enough to allow their debate to be overhead like that. They always keep a tight lip until the ruling comes down. Many people have thought they would rule one way based on asked questions only to have them rule totally opposite. However, I will say that none of Trump’s 3 justices have impressed me at all. Any high hopes I had of Amy Barrett came crashing down. She will be a disappointment for liberty like the other two.

If the argument was uncharacteristicly loud, things could have been heard by people out in the hall. Barrett is in a tricky spot because she was confirmed right before the election. She comes across a a "goody-two shoes" type girl, whom Roberts could intimidate. She literally doesn't have a pair.

And how exactly would he be "persuaded" to retire? SCOTUS is a lifelong job. All the FReepers who mindlessly cheered on Gorsuch and Kavanaugh to SCOTUS so they could gloat about another "victory lap" for Donald Trump, congrats, you are now stuck with those two for the next 30+ years, no matter how much they stab us in the back.

There is, of course, the option of impeaching SCOTUS judges. And yes, you could impeach them on ideological groups if you wanted (Gerald Ford attempted to do that to get rid of insane liberal activist DIABLO CJ Earl Warren, and it went nowhere. Only one SC member has ever been impeached: Samuel Chase. He was acquitted and not removed.)

Some FReepers suggested impeaching all seven of the SCOTUS judges who refused to hear the Texas lawsuit (everyone except Thomas and Alito). Let's go with the highly unlikely scenario that all seven were successfully impeached AND removed. "President" Joe Biden would love that, he could immediately "pack the court" with seven NEW younger commies on SCOTUS, and he wouldn't even need to expand the court by one seat to do it.

Elections have consequences. Rubber stamping faux "originalists" to SCOTUS has consequences, too.

(and the fact they can only be removed by impeachment or death is yet another reason why I think we should TERM LIMIT all federal judges and allow citizens to recall them, but meh, seems pretty low on people's priority lists)

Seems to me the proper response from THE PEOPLE is to riot until they DO hear the case.

Roberts’ concern is NOT whether there will be rioting, but whether the Constitution will be followed.
