Screen print of Parler's captcha not recognizing my input.
This after over 50 rejections of what I typed in.
Use eight or more characters with at least one capital letter, lowercase letter, number, and special character. So I did as they required. Yet, I was denied my chosen password 35 times before they accepted this password,
!9-chucK-56Which begs the question, why did they deny this one,
!9-Chuck-20Or this one
19Chuck-an-!2Now consider this password they suggested I use
aCb-1fd3-Q!&mYet they rejected over 35 passwords I offered that were very similar to the one they suggested.
“I gave up on it when it asked for a phone number. I’m not giving any personal information.”
Huh? Who says you have to use your REAL number?? Lots of alternate throw away numbers to get from.
If you can make multiple email accounts, then you can easily get alternate phone umbers from Google phone, textnow etc. I’ve used those WORKING alternate numbers multiple times.
sheeshh
Look again their f had the and line through the middle as like I’m lower case fs do
I like Parler , it takes some getting used to. I have been on Twitter a year and have 1 follower, found I have been shadow banned half the time. I have been on Parler for a month and have hundreds of followers. I see a lot of info there I would never see on Twitter.
I do not do Facebook and will be glad when the patriots on Twitter all move to other platforms. Then they can be left with their liberals and bots.
Correct. Should have been a capital F, the lower case would be subscripted slightly like the lower case p.
Parler has some bugs to work out.
It is not the best format for any meaningful conversation (like twitter) and I rarely read the comments on there.
However, for content it is a pretty good site. You can see what people you like (journalist or pols) are looking at and I often see some really good articles/video hits posted on there that do not seem to hit the FR front page. Some of the twitter format stuff from people like Buck Sexton and others are worth reading. Some very good investigative journalist are posted on there by many people.
Again, I too have been frustrated and I had the same issue as you for a week. The page slows my computer down if I keep it open and it has crashed my computer a time or two. I don’t keep it open on my computer, but overall if you like information and opinion pieces it is worthwhile.
Give them some time. Believe it or not, it is better now than it was because I don’t think they anticipated the traffic they are getting.
Just my .02
Try Gab. Parler has a clumsy interface and has engaged in some censorship. Gab has zero censorship.
I wanted to join but there seems to be no way to set up an account for online use only. I don’t want it on my phone because I don’t own my phone, it’s a free company one and I don’t want them having access to any of my accounts outside of work. But Parler won’t let you set up an account with using the phone. Oh well, I tried.
“I had no problem registering with Parler. My issue is the way it’s formatted and the way it functions.”
****
Same here. People have a problem with CAPTCHAS?? Seriously. It is used EVERY DAMN TIME I use Craigslist, shopify, ebay etc and it is a security anti-bot mechanism, and activates if the cookies and your ip address log ins are different..
HOWEVER, I agree with freepers about the interface. Obviously, they are used to seeing Google and Youtube clean interface staring back at them.
THEN AGAIN, Freepers BITCH about Twitter, FB being anti- conservative yet here’s one which is TRUE to it’s core, and conservatives bitch about this one too! sheesh..
No they use a lot of lowercase letters and make them large like the uppercase ones
If you look close you will see the line Goes through the f like lowers case fs
Upper case F dies not have the line go through the line
Try Gab. It’s much more fun and much more interactive. I bailed on Parler after a few tries also. Dull.
Your phone number is 555-1212. Everybody knows that!
If anything of any importance is posted on Parler. Or any website-it will make its way to Free Republic.
And then I will read and respond to it.
I am very well aquatinted with captcha. I have used it in places fir well over 12 years
It’s not me it them
I enjoyed Parler for a while. Logging on is a big pain. Posts get lost almost immediately, and there’s a hierarchy that seems to discourage ordinary folks from participating.
I finally ditched the whole thing and signed up with MeWe / WeMe... whatever.
Much easier to log in, and easier to navigate. I don’t follow many of the political pages, even though FR has a presence there. I tend toward the Hot Rod / Custom Car, WWII, and General History stuff.
I have Free Republic for news and commentary, and MeWe / WeMe for entertainment.
Parler is a disaster.
There's an old joke about one poor fellow trying to follow all the same type rules creating a password. The computer keeps telling him, "Sorry your password does not meet our standards."
So he finally types in, "G__dD__mnYourF#----g1StupidPasswords"
The machine replies, "Sorry, that password is already taken."
Parler has gotten a lot of publicity lately, and a lot of attention from people who do not mean it well. I’d suggest being patient and sticking with it - they are trying to protect themselves and their users from bad actors on the left, and the security requirements will be strict.
“Look again their f had the and line through the middle as like I’m lower case fs do”
LOOK AGAIN! The lower case is lower than the upper case! The F is the same height as all the other upper case letters (twice the height as the lower case p.
aCb-1fd3-Q!&m
The beauty of that password is that no one could ever guess it.
The drawback is it that no one could ever remember it!
The simple solution is to avoid ALL social media sites. They are dangerous! Think Zuckerberg! (One of FRs spellcheck suggestions for “Zuckerberg” is “Scumbag” lol)
Me too I went back to sign in and no dice. Screw it.
Please change your password one last time, because these examples can be mined for access.
