Parler Is Inept! I'm Done With Social Sites

This after over 50 rejections of what I typed in.

So I tried to join Parler. Their requirements for a password are as follows,

Use eight or more characters with at least one capital letter, lowercase letter, number, and special character.

So I did as they required. Yet, I was denied my chosen password 35 times before they accepted this password,

Which begs the question, why did they deny this one,

Now consider this password they suggested I use

aCb-1fd3-Q!&m

Yet they rejected over 35 passwords I offered that were very similar to the one they suggested.

Finally a password I offered to their password god was accepted. So now I was onto typing the letters from the Captcha so they will know I am a real human. I figure I'm in like Flynn now.

Not so fast.

For the next 15 minutes, and after well over 50 or more tries, I could never get them to accept what I typed in. Now I'm used to captcha being used. After all, seems like 99% of the places you go to join, or when you order things online, you have to match the characters offered to prove your are human.

Well, after many moons (seemed like) of trying to get past the captcha menu, I finally took a screen print to prove to my wife that it's not me but their stupid software. After all, she was already getting tired of listening to me yelling at the monitor during my attempts to get a password accepted. Now this.

Mind you, she knows the troubles I have at with fb. So she has been pushing me to leave fb and join a different Social site that will allow it's users the freedom to share what they want and believe what they want. Well, I finally decided to join one. Then this happens.

So, since Parler will not allow me to join their site, I will not waste any more of my time trying. Their ineptitude is beyond rediculous.

I am fed up with these Social sites. I will not be joining Parler, because they won't let me. I'm finished with fb, since I refuse to waist any more of my time on posting things that less than 1% of my friends ever even see. I only have about 1200 friends anymore. I used to have almost 5000 friends, but I was suspended many times, had my account terminated a few times, and now everything I post gets shadow blocked, or removed for violating their rules. You know, the one's that say you can only share immoral communist propoganda ideas?

Well, they Win. I'm out of there. Goodby and good riddance to these moronic social sites. My experience is that Facebook is nothing more than a wing of the Democrat Party, and Parler sucks for their ineptitude.

Some password systems do not allow the special character in the first position. Of course, they do not tell you that directly. Only that you need a special character. Notice the suggested password still has a !, but not in the first position.

You are a very determined person! I had the same experience, but gave up after about 20 attempts.

Crazy thing is I went back a few days later, just in case I had been having a bad hair day. Nope, still wouldn’t let me in.

My life continues without Parler.

It recognized your lower case f was not the same as the required upper case F!

I gave up on it when it asked for a phone number. I’m not giving any personal information.

You don't have to give them a phone#. When creating an account you're asked for a phone# or an email address.

I use it more fir my Christian writing to share the Word
But no one ever sees anything

By fb has done all they can to destroy my ministry reach on fb

I have been registered on Parler for almost a year and a half and have never had a single issue with passwords or anything else.

I have not used it a whole lot, but as yourself, FB is an abomination and has repeatedly censored me, jailed me, and now they are concerned about my account being hacked, so I got shut out.

I only had 1600 friends which somehow kept lessening for no discernible reason.

I also have an account on Gab for going on 3 years. Maybe that site might be better.

I just think that one should not remove them self from an important aspect of contemporary reality. You could miss out on a lot.

I email or call my friends. If they aren't worth that, they aren't much in the way of friends.

For ‘social’, here and AOSHQ work well for banter and serendipitous conversations.

The need to have a text message verification isn't very bright, it isn't a financial app. It should be an optional level of security available when needed if you suspect someone hijacked your account. But for every day use on a desk top computer, no thanks.

I abandoned my attempt to use Parler.

Fortunately there is Free Republic and we get to see what is posted on social media without having to be on social media. Someone always seems to be willing to post those things on FR.

Personally, I think we would all improve our lives though face-to-face relationships with friends and family. I deleted all my social media accounts years ago (during the Hussein Administration). Nothing beats face-to-face communication and it solidifies deep and meaningful relationships. So turn off the smart phone and talk with people face-to-face without a damn mask so you can see their expressions.

By the way, distance from loved ones is not an excuse to keep social media. Rearrange priorities. Love ones are the single most important thing in anyone's life. Don't water that down with half-ass communications. Make rich and meaningful relationships in person.

Looks right to me. Maybe they don't like your browser? Seems like I was having trouble with firefox/parler. I now have Parler open at all times on a tab of Brave browser. It never signs me out like firefox was doing several times a day.

At any rate, Parler is like twitter. Very much not a facebook replacement. https://mewe.com is a lot like facebook with Groups and Pages. There's even a Free Republic Group.

Plenty of general interest Groups as well. I'm a member of a couple of car groups and a Linux group. Also, The Annoyingly Overmoderated Group(which is not moderated and has crude but funny humor) I think Lazmataz is a member or admin.

Pretty standard for account signups. A phone number prevents 100s of garbage accounts being setup by one person or a bot as you can’t create more than one account for a given phone number. the phone number also is used for verification that *you* are the real person setting up the account as an activation code is messaged to the phone number you provide. This prevents someone from impersonating you.

If you look again, the password they finally accepted I put the special character a ! First

So obviously that was not a problem
Ultimately it was the captcha that edged my desire to even be part of their site
