“Except for those of us whose crazy brains lean that way. LOL”

Maybe you’d appreciate this :-) I can’t find anybody else that does. Except for my husband sort of, and all he wants is the answer.

I’m comparing his company’s PPO to its HSA. Put in our known expenses, premiums, the 1500 this company gives for the HSA deductibles, co-pays Etc. At about $23,000 in expenses over our minimum, they break even. Before that the HSA is cheaper, over that the PPO. BUT, the HSA’s out of pocket max kicks in at about about 24,000. So after that you pay nothing. So there’s only one little spot where the PPO would be worth it. It’s out of pocket max doesn’t kick in until 50,000 in expenses. Because it’s a 90/10 plan.

That was fun. I do it every year just to see if anything changes, and it hasn’t yet.

But the interesting/sad thing is that very few people get the HSA. Because you have to pay a lot of The Upfront expenses I guess they think it’s not worth it. But your premium and the company’s contribution go right into your HSA account and you can use it later for medical expenses. Or pay medicare premiums. It’s a win-win. And the coverage is good, same as the PPO except it’s 80/20. The first year it was 70/30. But the out-of-pocket Max is only 4,000 for one, 8000 for family, so it’s not like a lot of the HSAs that are catastrophic coverage only.

Grrrr!!!!!! I was trying to set up an account for Medicare.gov and it wouldn’t accept the password I put in. So I kept changing and trying and trying and then it locked me out for an hour. Tomorrow is another day. I hope it will work then.

Rusty the other day you said you were watching some movie on Netflix so I went and put it in search to watch. Do you speak Spanish? It was all in Spanish with English Subtitles. I can’t read that fast so I gave up. I am going to go watch the newest season of the Crown now.

Supposed to be 8-4:30 p.m. shift but this time of year (OPEB audit plus annual enrollment cleanup) it can run 7-10 p.m. shift. And weekends. LOL

“I sure hope she has it & just cannot reveal it yet”

I’m sure she has it. First, Tucker works for a bad Network, I’m glad she’s not going on there. Second, they made it clear many times that this was just their opening argument. That showing the evidence will be done later and in court. Third, many of the Trump team seem to have some particular numbers that they couldn’t have gotten without having a whole lot of evidence. Sydney says that Trump won over 80 million votes. Louie gohmert and Lin wood say that Trump has over 400 electoral votes. These are rather specific. I imagine they have the servers and have some software types doing a thorough check of them. I don’t think they are making the numbers up.

“And I am not married to the same car for ten years”

Can you please tell my husband that? When we get a car, it is kind of like when we get a pet. They get a forever home. That’s why we’re having such a hard time moving, we need a huge shop or the land to build one. We finally sold our 20-year old truck, after letting it hang around with the new one. But even he couldn’t justify keeping both.

I HATE that! I am notoriously bad at not looking up passwords, instead I just guess randomly. Well not randomly, I use all my favorites first. So I get locked out a lot!

I’ve actually been on our HSA plan the past few years; since I’m eligible for retirement insurance I’ve not tried to use it as a savings vehicle for future costs. I put in only what I figure I’ll use during the year.

Every year I reach the out of pocket max (in that time period for this year) so currently my claims are covered 100%. Our max amounts are pretty low, at least for single coverage. For 2021, I decided to switch back to our PPO plan (we have two PPOs). Running the numbers I think I’ll still break even for my total pocket costs (premium + claims). I could be wrong; if I am I’ll switch back to the HSA for 2022.

Are you still having a hard time sleeping?

A friend told me that this works great and it’s mild.

President took it when he had Covid.
