Jackson Pollock (1912-56) has, for multiple reasons, been one of the easiest to criticize artists, especially when you see how he 'paints' (smile)!
This one "Number 17A" sold in 2016 for $200m.
But then, on the other hand, you have a painter like Mark Rothko (1903-70) Large paintings $25m+.
Which would you prefer? Remember, art is in the eye of the beholder!

Sometimes these classic masterpieces look better when you hang them upside down, and sometimes they look better when you turn the front of the painting towards the wall.
