Calls to boycott Major League Baseball spiked Tuesday after the league posted a photo of some San Francisco Giants players kneeling during the national anthem prior to an exhibition game.
The hashtag #BoycottMLB trended on Twitter as some social-media commentators accused the league of showing a lack of respect for the military, which the league denied.

The kneelers included Giants manager Gabe Kapler, who said he planned to use his platform to demonstrate my dissatisfaction with our clear systemic racism in our country, according to ESPN.
I wanted them to know that I wasnt pleased with the way our country has handled police brutality, and I told them I wanted to amplify their voices, and I wanted to amplify the voice of the Black community and marginalized communities as well, Kapler said.

Perfect time for MLB to pull this, because they won’t get the up close personal reactions from any angry fans in attendance. They won’t face even an ounce of heckling.
Nobody gets to decide what others should think about them disrespecting the flag and America. The gall. And they should leave America.
Another win for the Marxists as their brain-washed “useful idiots” destroy their own livelihood.
If they hate America I hate them. They must think their game is pretty special when it is really boring.
MLB is now BLM
Last year he was the manager of the Phillies. I would have loved to have seen this worm kneel in front of a full house in Philadelphia.
Amazingly there is not one single post on this subject with which I disagree. Let’s be finished with the America and American history and laws and society loathers. Send them to Venezuela, Cuba, Russia where they can figure out whether they like those living conditions better than what they have here. I think $10,000 is the limit within which any one can leave. Good. Let them try to “make it” for several years with no jobs or poor jobs and see how well they will like it.
Thats a great idea. Why pay for sports channels we will no longer watch.
I’d rather watch paint peeling in the sun than watch BBall.
I didn’t survive the steroid era. It ruined the stats...cheapened achievement. In terms of their sports, I was never an NBA guy. The game is too monotonous to watch.....fun game to play though.
Professional sports used to be something all people of all backgrounds and economic status could enjoy. Whatever else was wrong in the world, we at least could all agree that we wanted the home team to win. Sports was the ultimate unifier.
Now, pro sports feel it’s necessary to make policial statements. obviously not realizing what they are selling......escape from reality.
Any cause they take on, abortion, BLM, anti abortion, religion, healthcare....any cause will alienate a portion of their fan base. They can do what they want of course, but it’s bad for business. How bad? We’ll see.
The only sport I watch is Motocross, or at least until they screw that up.
I have an idea that would solve all of this BS but they would never accept it. Since they claim that they’re not protesting the national anthem then fine. Have them stand for the anthem then after it’s over, add a “hey look at me moment.” Would be a couple of minutes where the players could do anything they want to show off. Kneel, vogue for the camera, or moon the crowd.
The spoiled sports figures lack patriotism. What do they do for the country? Turn the garbage off!
Now I'm just enjoying watching them self-immolate. 😄
I heard the TV broadcasters are planning to add CGI fans in the stands for the televised games. Each fan could be programmed with 50 different moves. Including the wave.
The white ballplayers who are doing the “chicken kneel” are particularly disgusting as they cave to please the BLM mob. I love baseball but will BOYCOTT MLB, NFL, and of course the anti American, pro China, NBA. If you yearn for pure baseball go watch the young kids playing travel ball.
I won’t be watching. I will not support a sport that is used to promote a political party.
-Much of previous sports viewership was tied to gambling. Now, with a plethora of scratch-off lottery tickets and online gambling, who needs to wait for the end of a mediocre game to win or lose?
-Baseball never recovered from the strike in the 1990s. The steroid era that immediately followed, arguably enabled if not encouraged by the league as the home run races were offsetting some of the decline, backfired. Too many dads turned off the game and their sons never got into the game.
-Professional sports cannot compete with the internet as well as smart phone apps. The social aspect of following a team, sharing with friends, etc. has been replaced by sharing on phone apps about things that are more fun.
-Watching others play professional sports are just not as interesting as other forms of entertainment and who has 3-4 hours to wait for an outcome that the league conspired to keep the games/races close in order to keep eyeballs on it for the advertisements?
-Television broadcasters and carriers have been using sports viewership for decades to offset the loss of viewers of other television shows. They extended low budget news broadcasts by several hours a day, added more nonsense "reality tv" shows, added singer/performer shows, and are now showing tag and other people watching television. Yes, they're showing adults play tag and even shows with "celebrities" watching television.
Streaming services, which are in effect a la carte programming that broadcasters and carriers have opposed as a threat to their monopoly, may be the final nail.
As vaudeville had gone before it, so goes television. It doesn't matter what you or I think; those in the industry know. Remember, they're not selling you advertised products; you are the product being sold to the advertisers.
...and their alms to Money aren't bearing fruit.
That does it. I’m not going to a single game this year. That’ll teach ‘em.
