The 2021 Tournament of Roses Parade, an institution in Pasadena, California, since 1891, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is the first time in 76 years the parade, held each year on New Years Day, has been canceled. This year would have marked the 132nd edition.
With reluctance and tremendous disappointment, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association announces that, in accordance with Gov. [Gavin] Newsoms Phase IV reopening schedule, and after thoughtful consideration of the restrictions and guidelines in place as a result of COVID-19, we are unable to host the 2021 Rose Parade, the organizers of the event said in a statement.
The parade was previously canceled in 1942, 1943 and 1945 due to World War II. Broadcast all around the world, the spectacle-driven event is famed for its procession of flowery floats, horses and marching bands. While further out than most of the events currently being canceled, work on the following years Rose Parade typically begins in February.
The parade generally coincides with the Rose Bowl, a college football playoff semifinal game. Plans for the game are still under consideration.
January?
Newsmen is a valley karen
Thanks. It sounds like you have inside info.
You should. The floats are so amazing with the flowers that even the best TVs today cant match it. The only reason I dont go (besides covid freaking everyone out) is because you have to go to bed early on NYE and wake up at 4 am.
No need to sit on the street to camp out. You can purchase a seat and have an assigned area for parking. It is so well executed. It is a wonderful experience, Pasadena is a fabulous small town. Lots of other things to do. The original Trader Joe’s is there. Several top notch museums. The best part is being able to view the floats up close and personal the day following the parade in a park close by. It is an experience not to miss. It is too bad that is in California.
‘In fact, everything will be back to normal on Nov 4 if Trump loses’
not right away; it will take months to get the economy cranked up again, in fact, the dems might regret the scorched earth tactics in order to win an election...
I’ve been there live 4 or 5 times over the years. The last was in 1990, the first in the early 60s. It was always a great time.

Newsom, the man in charge of the economic demolition of California. After helping destroy San Fran he’s set his sights on the whole state.
He says, shut up and wear the muzzle. No questions asked!

It's like the picture in Back to the Future
Sounds very neat.
I know there are some package tours that include the parade and Rose Bowl.
People will really be looking forward to the next one.
No college football this year, so...
There is a Swine Flu strain out there right now, and that new Chinese Swine Flu strain expected this winter.
