Only mabarker1 has known what has been going on and has kept his vow of science but the time has now come to fess up.

i have been fighting cancer since last October going thru chemo/radiation and then more chemo and it damn near killed me.

i have been in hospital three times this year, 8 then 10 then 21 days.

the first when my body had multiple organ system complications and shut down, then again with additional complications, the third time i had major abdominal surgery all stemming from the chemo/rad.

the surgery was small bowel to small bowel bypass of multiple small bowel obstructions, meaning most of my sm bowel no longer functions in the normal manner.

along with ulcerative colitis and decompensatied liver with acities i am not in the best of shape.

that said i will be less visible here from now on and will not be answering every ping or post to me, let alone on this thread, just know i am not ignoring you, simply not up to it.

Glorious wonder-worker, St. Peregrine, you answered
the divine call with a ready spirit, and forsook
all the comforts of a life of ease and all the
empty honors of the world to dedicate yourself to God
in the Order of His holy Mother.

You labored manfully for the salvation of souls. In union
with Jesus crucified, you endured painful sufferings
with such patience as to deserve to be healed miraculously
of an incurable cancer in your leg by a touch of
His divine hand.

Obtain for Our Dear Chode the grace to answer every
call of God and to fulfill His will in all the
events of life. Enkindle in his heart a consuming
zeal for the salvation of all men.

Deliver Chode from the infirmities that afflict his body

Obtain for him also a perfect resignation to the sufferings
it may please God to send, so that,
imitating our crucified Savior and His sorrowful Mother,
he may merit eternal glory in heaven.

My youngest son, age 49 had surgery in April 2019 for cancerous polyps. They did two resections, took out over 70 lymph nodes, and he went through chemo for 6 months. So far, so good.

Definitely keeping you in my prayers. Cancer sucks; it can be beaten but sometimes at a considerable cost. Hang in there and don’t quit. Post/comment when you can; yours are always worth reading.

Gastric cancer is a bitch. Spent the last year fighting off stage 3 stomach cancer. The chemo is more effective but the side effects are tough. Had a total stomach removal. I pray you have good results as I have had.
