The ancient Irish were a primitive and savage people.
St. Patrick came along and changed all that! Blessed be his name!

The Irish were no more primitive than other people of their time. Their savagery was no worse than say, the Romans. Applying our standards to ancient peoples doesn’t work. That said, the coming of Christianity did make the Irish a better people. It got rid of ritual sacrifice and slavery.

Common in ancient times. Lot impregnated his two daughters. That was different. The closest town had been full of...
...wait for it...
flaming homosexuals.
and besides, they got Dad drunk first.
Look up what nations descended from those two, by the way.

Jews married cousins* for hundreds of years in Europe, muslims still do it today. My Christian ancestors married cousins* generation after generation, apparently during as late as the 18th-19th Centuries. It was a not unheard of practice throughout much of history.
*Not necessarily first cousins, but close enough to be noticed in the DNA.

An impressive structure. We visited there a number of years back. The passageway gets very tight in a few places. On the solstice (I forget which one, summer or winter) the sun’s light (rising or setting, forgot that too) penetrates all the way to the inner chamber for a short time. Quite a feat of engineering!

It is something that you can say to every atheist.
That even if you don’t believe in Christ—it was he who abolished human sacrifice—which was practiced by every people group on earth. We would have a very different civilization today without him.

The Irish were raiding England in the 1300's for slaves. This was long after St Patrick was was dead and gone.
