The ancient Irish were a primitive and savage people.
St. Patrick came along and changed all that! Blessed be his name!
The Irish were no more primitive than other people of their time. Their savagery was no worse than say, the Romans. Applying our standards to ancient peoples doesn’t work. That said, the coming of Christianity did make the Irish a better people. It got rid of ritual sacrifice and slavery.
