I actually own a UV-C meter that I’ve used to test a number
of UV-C sterilization wands, Lamps, boxes, LEDs and
protective eye wear, etc.
It turns out that I have devices that would take between
as little as 2 seconds (per side) to effectively sterilize
a mask, to as much as 10 minutes.
I also have others that would take much longer.
One of the slickest looking rechargeable pocket UVC LED wands
turned out to only emit about 40 micro-watts of 253.7
nanometer UVC, at about 1/2” distance. Since we would
like about 40 mili-watt seconds cumulative UV-C irradiation
to do a 99.9+% job on the germs, I’d need to hold that
device over every half inch of both sides of that mask
for 25 seconds per half inch.
Now, you CAN get good UVC germ killer lamps to add into
heating or air conditioning systems, and you can also
get stand alone air filters that use UVC and even UVC
activated catalytic filters to do a job on germs in your
airspace. Consider HEPA 13 (HyperHEPA) hospital grade
filtration if you plan to capture something as small as
a virus and not just frazzle it with some UV.
Clothes, groceries, and stuff can also be sterilized
ozone, with proper precautions. (If you’re pulling out
all the stops to protect an at risk person, for instance.)

There are two issues at bay:
1) Heat and humidity dramatically impact the half-life of coronavirus, as common sense suggests but the #FakeNews ridiculed POTUS for suggesting we might find early on (recall Jim Acosta repeatedly mocking POTUS for suggesting, at some point, in the spring / summer, it might just go away). The extensive DHS study I posted graphics from last night on this thread, showed that with reasonable heat + humidity, coronavirus will soon die out in a minute. The corresponding question POTUS posed yesterday is whether U/V treatments can be applied to the human body as well. And, in fact, it can + does, it’s a long + well known way to attack viruses + other things.
2) Disenfectants also prove deadly to the coronavirus. Once again, the #FakeNews distorts the question and sarcastic reply given to reporters by POTUS - what he was suggesting is, again, long established but hidden techniques for attacking such things as coronavirus. Basically, remove + cleanse & process one’s blood.
See post above that a company just, today, announced a new instrument to such purpose in conjunction with Cedars Sinai and send that to your friend ... it sounds like all he heard was #FakeNews which, as highlighted here, is going into overdrive to prevent healing of our nation now that the coronavirus is facing imminent death itself with warmer season(s) ahead.

I’m pretty sure the issue is that Amazon has their own fleet of trucks where costs are low ... like in major cities.
Then they can dump off the high-priced areas, like rural, to the USPS.
It’s just rational business on their part, I must say.
The Post Office has a long history of charging the same price for deliveries regardless of location. If they keep this practice, but increase prices as POTUS is demanding, then Amazon and others will expand their own fleets removing additional “profitable” areas from the USPS.
Possibly the high costs of rural areas will be mitigated when packages and letters are delivered by drones.

Well, yes and no... If you ever want great grandchildren you’ll need to be
very careful about it... ;-)
Hunters put their clothes and gear inside large closed bins with an Ozone
Generator pumping it full of Ozone. 30 minutes of that sterilizes everything
and removes the smells, so the game they are hunting is not spooked.
Old style saunas, with the hole in the top to stick your head out of are made
these days to also deliver “ozone therapy”. They fill the sauna box with
ozone while you breath normal air from outside of it.
Your grandkids can’t breath ozone without turning their lungs to pudding,
so you would need to provide them proper air to breath before you go
hosing them down with ozone or locking them in your sterilization box... ;-)
