We can get movies from Prime and/or Netflix. Can anyone recommend some really good movies to watch this evening? Could be suspense, adventure, musical? I am one of the worse picker-outers available!

If it weren’t for Amazon Prime, I’d be insane right now. Personally, I’ve been watching TONS of horror movies. They have a great amount of Hammer Studios films, so LOTS of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Vincent Price is another one I’ve been watching. Might not be up everyone’s alley, but for some reason, I find the horror films of the fifties and sixties to be strangely reassuring. Good triumphing over evil (and heavy positive Christian themes in the Hammer films.)

Just my two cents.

I always like Last of the Mohican’s 1992/1993 or around that time frame. Action and adventure for the men, and a hint of romance for the ladies.

Deja Vu was too gimmicky for me.

Pt3 was kind of a letdown but trying to cram Atlas Shrugged into a few movies was a challenge.

I’m glad it got made anyway.

Maybe those movies will inspire someone better-heeled to do the book justice.

AS could probably work as an HBO or Amazon Studios production.

I am glad I don’t have time for all that. I work 7 nights a week.

If you haven’t seen “Founder” about the making of McDonalds burger empire, it really is a must see. I learned a lot of surprising things about McDonald’s founding and fact checking the movie, it is almost completely true. Some movies make a lot up but alsmot everything in this movies is true except a couple of minor details.

“The Village Barbershop” is a really well done film. You really feel the lives of the characters.

“Molly’s Game” was very well done. It is a drama.

“I, Tonya” was also well done, about Tonya Harding kneecapping Nancy Kerrigan to knock her out of Olympic contention. More dark humor than drama.

“Edge of Seventeen” was good but a bit edgy. You may or may not like based on your taste. Really good acting. Hailee Stienfeld really shines in it. Not an upbeat movie.

“Appaloosa” is great if you want a Western movie.

“Sicario” is a very good action drama. Not the stupid sequel but the original.

“Deepwater Horizon” is a true story told well. Really puts you ln the oil drilling platform during that disaster. Very well done and solid casting.

“Up in the Air”

“Primal Fear”

For a great family movie I recommend “Troop Zero” on Prime. It's a top notch, heart warming, sweet film, with no raunchyness. And it is free if you have Prime.

We rented “Blast from the Past” for $1.99, we’ll finish watching it tonight. Thought it would go perfectly with “sheltering in place”...and it does!

I love Prime for the funky, oddball horror selections they have, including the awful SciFi stuff from the 50s & 60s. This afternoon I watched Diary of a Madman with Vincent Price. He was wonderful. Tonight I’ll finish up season 3 of Ozark on Netflix. On the weekends, me & the Mrs watch British fare on Acorn TV. I haven’t American made TV since Happy Days was a hit.

There’s a series called The Boys on Amazon Prime. I loved it and have watched it several times. It’s a superhero show.
