In fact if I were Trump, Id call in all the big box people, Walmart, Costco etc and tell them to tell to immediately develop *temporary* policies where the panicked and greedy can only have two cases of water per person or 3 bottles of hand sanitizer, etc...No more BS where ya see people rolling out with 3 full baskets of tissues, water, sanitizer etc.
Id put of quick stop to that nonsense.
No. Costco, Walmart and other stores are run by adults. Let the adults at each store make the call as their local circumstances indicate.
Stores need to pressured to do so.
They limit purchase any many items.
Try buying 6 packs of Sudifed.
Stores limi purchases on sale items when it suite them.
Sure.
In WW2 we had rationing.
Is this going to hurt anyone?
Certain questions DO NOT lend themselves to 'do you support' as in 'democracy.' We are a Constitutional Republic for a reason. It's not an opinion or a 'how do you feel about this' question.
This is like asking a 10 year heroin addict clean for a week 'do you support taking this heroin I'm offering you to make you feel better.'. Of COURSE they support it. That's why they aren't allowed to vote on it if they are in rehab.
If we are talking about absolute life and death things like people are starving in the streets, maybe that's another thing.
But WIPE YOUR BUM WITH YOUR HAND for a while to learn a lesson if you didn't pick up a little extra a month ago when it was obvious the virus and the mob might get a little out of hand.
As for sanitizer, a medium bottle of Dawn may not be what you want, but it's ENOUGH. There is access to ENOUGH even if people are inconvenienced. And it's damn near time US citizens stopped relying on mommy government to hold their hands when they don't properly plan for the future.
Other than that I have no strong opinions.
The cost of the government stepping in like that before appropriate is a death wish to solve an inconvenience problem. And if private companies want to be good doobies and set limits -> that's fine, they are private individuals or corporations.
NO NO and NO
Damn right.
A request is not an EO.
Already happening without Trump’s input...BJs, Sam’s that I’ve been to.
The Sudafed thing is a Federal regulation.
Leadership without overstepping constitutional boundaries is fine.
“In WW2 we had rationing.
Is this going to hurt anyone?”
Yes, it will hurt nearly everyone.
WWII saw a country of patriots.
We have a country with a large percentage who believe the government should run everything in our lives, thus Bernie.
We shouldn’t give them any opening.
Government already does such:
Customers must show photo ID to buy the decongestant, and the legal limit for purchases is 9 grams per month - roughly the equivalent of two 15-dose boxes of 24-hour Claritin D, or three 10-dose boxes of Aleve Cold & Sinus, or six 24-dose boxes of Sudafed.
Not only no, but hell no.
I don’t want another Little Jimmy carter.
Business is more than able to do this on their own hook....
LOL, I'd hate to be you. You must take a 30' trailer with you to shop. I guess you'd have to tell them to shop for themselves like most everyone else does. Such a dilemma. You'd survive.☺
Btw, some here say stores have already implemented this...So it looks like your SOL or will be.

I was talking about that with a couple of my neighbors. Electricity and water? This is the best emergency ever. :)
That’s unconstitutional.
Went to Walmart yesterday, found what I needed with no problems. 50 lb of dog food.
Got to the checkout stand and realized I was the only cart without toilet paper in it.
Don’t need it. I can substitute if I need to. But I forgot cat litter! Cat will have to use real sand.
“We have a country with a large percentage who believe the government should run everything in our lives, thus Bernie.”
Ok....what the hell does that have to do with anything here?
This is about people getting access to the things they need in case they have to stay inside for a prolong period of time.
Already happening:
No need for the government to do anything.
BTW apparently my local mega-lo mart has been discovered by the panicking hoards.
Cleaned out of TP. What the heck are they doing with it? The stock guy told me that they had people from Canada here buying. Canada is a two hour drive from here.
He is puzzled but happy as this has meant that he is now on over time.
Most people were just buying normal stuff but I did see one person grab five things of hand sanitizer.
