In fact if I were Trump, Id call in all the big box people, Walmart, Costco etc and tell them to tell to immediately develop *temporary* policies where the panicked and greedy can only have two cases of water per person or 3 bottles of hand sanitizer, etc...No more BS where ya see people rolling out with 3 full baskets of tissues, water, sanitizer etc.
Id put of quick stop to that nonsense.
Agree except for “...truckers forging logs...” ELD’s (electronic logbook/logging devices) were mandated last December 31. Very hard to cheat...tied into the truck’s ECM and GPS. Days of “pencil whipping” are gone.
Order online from walmart and do pickup. They will notify you if they dont have it. Pickup is free. Simplifies your process. Pickup early if you want it early next week. Later next week it will not matter since everything will be restocked.
I would recommend you look into walmart ordering anyway since you say you are handicapped. Will make your shopping loads easier and it is all the same price as in store and no fee to pickup.
Oh brother...What kind of BS is that? Trump contacts the big box CEO's like Costco, Walmart etc and simply asks them, or requests of them to implement temporary limits on the items being hoarded by the panicked and greedy. No mandates.
Btw, it's still a free country and Trump or anyone else can suggest, ask and or request anything they want.
Heh...
Online quote: I know a guy who has a eld but has 3 different apps on his phone and uses all of them
now he is banking on the cops not knowing which app goes with the dongle
will the real app please stand up?
Trump knows better.
“When markets for goods and services function efficiently, each factor of production is allocated to its most productive use. That means businesses produce the goods and services most desired by customers and sell them for the lowest possible price. The efficiency of product markets can be reduced by lack of competition and distortionary fiscal policies and regulations.”
You are suggesting a distortionary recommendation from the big guy. If the retailer wish to do it because it benefits them, great. If Trump asks them to do it it distorts the market. Almost like peer pressure to do this. If it is not in their customers and their best interest to do it and they do it it ripples up the supply chain and a perfect balance is not achieved. Things like this are “Berny Think” and not helpful.
Didn’t know there was a dongle version...most I have seen have a screen and are on/near the dash to the right. The PoPo/weigh stations may catch on to that one pretty fast. ;-)
You dont have any primary sources to justify your assertion that rationing during WW2 was justified. I know you have no first hand information of the situation during WW2 - youre not old enough.
Your wonderment at the state of American education makes no sense. How do you know where I was educated?
Or are you agreeing with me?
Your comment does not advance the discussion.
Catch up with the discussion. Dont be an asshole.
Our Local Jewel-Osco has done this, and our ACE Hardware has set some masks aside for me. I shouldn’t need anymore. Unfortunately, my family comes and goes.
I can’t pick up the rest of my meds until the 19th. Awesome.
Those that are over-purchasing probably already had
extra supplies on hand. What we’re witnessing is
panic buying. The uncertainty of when the virus
will be under control. Not many can afford to purchase
$600 worth of supplies in one trip to the grocery store.
But I saw this happening at a store I was in a couple
days ago. One lady in the check out line with four
full carts of stuff.
NO.
Name calling? You seem angry, cheer up. Maybe some warm tea or a nap will help.
“You dont have any primary sources to justify your assertion that rationing during WW2 was justified. “
Do I seriously have to waste my time replying to something this stupid?
I get FR attracts these 4th rate “contraniran” wannabes, but the fact that you have such a low IQ, that you actually posted that with a straight face is a blanking embarrassment to this site.

Here, read this. It’s at a 5th grade level. Then take another hit of your weed so you can write me something even dumber.
I have to say that I was following this conversation.
My mother was 14 when WW2 ended.
I grew up,with a lot of stories about shortages,,first during the Depression, and then WW2.
I suppose younger generations have never heard of victory gardens, either.
I take it the purpose of your non-responsive comment is to assuage the severe damage to your ego that you perceive to have been caused by your ill-considered defense of rationing.
Normally, no.
However, now, yes.
People had a long time to see this coming and stock up ahead of time for a 2-4 week quaruntine. Now its a bit late. Your own fault if you need a bunch of stuff. Live and learn by hardship.
“I take it the purpose of your non-responsive comment is to assuage....”
Is anyone else reading this guy’s replies and not wondering if he’s trolling too?
I don’t mind individual retailers deciding on their own to limit quantities like they sometimes do for sale items, but I think the number should be high enough to meet the needs of larger families. A limit of 2 lbs of ground beef isn’t going to cut it for a family of 6 adults. That is what our boneheaded local grocery store manager is imposing.
I would recommend you look into walmart ordering anyway since you say you are handicapped. Will make your shopping loads easier and it is all the same price as in store and no fee to pickup.
Thanks I know. Looking into it..
