I want to share with you some scenes that greeted me at my local Kroger today.
These are scenes from a panicked populace.
Like locusts, they are stripping the shelves bare.
Kroger Toilet Paper aisle.
Kroger Deli Meat aisle.
Kroger bottled water aisle.
TP and water-hoarding I just don't get.
I understand having a back-up water supply on hand and filtration system in case the whole system goes down - but those four cases of bottled water does nothing for you.
Until further notice, "hours from 6am-11pm."
Supposedly they need time to restock, but this will not make the customers feel very secure, and if the distribution center runs out of goods...uh-oh!
**I just blew my nose and a bat wing came out.
Should I be concerned?**
Only if the official designation of said ‘bat wing’ is: B-2 Spirit.
Exactly the same scenario at the Publix in Fort Lauderdale. No chicken, not a single box of pasta and what was left of the soup was pretty awful. Lots of frozen food.
Yes there’s some Freepers in the mob carrying torches no doubt.
The checkout lady said I had missed the rush today, but it had been pretty crazy in the morning.
I said, "We won two world wars and the Cold War, and we're panicking over this?"
I got a strange look from a guy in the other checkout line.
The checkout lady said, "You have just made me feel good."
All in a day's work.

People are attempting to do something to instantly solve something that is too big for them to sole.
The baby steps are a good start for the people where they are, but where they are is not good.

In a couple of months, we’re going to be saying, “What was that all about? And what am I going to do with all of this toilet paper?”
To be honest about it, so many number and charts have been put up claiming this or that, I’ve completely lost track. So that’s precisely why I asked. I don’t want to make any more mortgage or credit card payment than I have to.
Roger that - they are light years away from medium to long-term self sufficiency.
Most of them don't have firearms or a decent ammo supply, and have no idea what to do if the EBT or credit system goes down. "Where they are is not good."
Ive got my cases of packages of masks... LOL. Many cases of everything but the rubber boots. Just a few pairs of those as they are easy to decon/sterilize. I am ready for a pandemic. I could work in a BSL-3 lab. No positive airflow suits so BSL-4 would be a no no but I likely would survive almost any BSL-4 pathogen pandemic. Would be able to cross most fallout plumes as well.

Been far over a decade since I visited the Florida panhandle. Guess since I had my last real vacation. Oh well. Work, work, work. Very Blessed to be working.

Well, if things somehow turn really bad (nomatter the crisis) and leaving town is a must, this is my favorite west burbs exit (I big trucked in and out of the ‘Windy’ metro for years):
US20 west to Plank Rd (which becomes Peace Rd on the north side of Sycamore), turn right onto west IL64. That will get you out into the wide open country side. If you want to keep going until you are out of Pritzger’s totalitarian state (wife and I left 3 yrs ago), then take IL64 to US52 to Savanah, cross ol Muddy into Iowa.
You’ll want to go here in PC Beach. One the two best restaurants in North America.

Looks tempting, laf. Air fare is pretty cheap right now. Might even get a good table and special pricing on hotels and meals!
I wonder if the spring break crowd will be like this year? I am guessing they will still be out in full force. Maybe worse. Since prices may be cheaper.
