FRANCE
The milestone of 1,000 people affected was crossed this Sunday in France, with 1,126 cases of contamination, according to Public Health France, which counts 19 deaths.
I expect exponential growth in the next few weeks.
IIRC, NE and another state had similar kinds of briefings.
Probably coincidence though
But, Germany, number recovered, 18
How long does it take to recover? All recovered numbers are low except for China but hey, if you incinerate dead bodies, the virus no longer lives in them, hence, they are recovered from the virus.
We are stuck on stupid to borrow a quote.
Port Everglades worker will definitely cramp the cruise industry. We have a second case on the Gulf Coast yesterday. 81yo woman traveled to Egypt.
If he wants to minimize severe illness and death among those helping to contain, he's doing the right thing.
How many Governors are Republican?
Zero Hedge is predicting oil to drop at least to 32...some are rooting for oil to go down to 20 /bbl or so.
(OPEC called for production cutbacks to drive the price up. Instead. Saudi Arabia and Russia both *increased* production. Price will go WAY DOWN. This may affect fracking as they have higher cost to produce, and a lot of debt.)
The U.S. State Dept. has issued the following:
U.S. citizens, particularly travelers with underlying
health conditions, should not travel by cruise ship. CDC notes
increased risk of infection of COVID-19 in a cruise ship
environment. In order to curb the spread of COVID-19, many
countries have implemented strict screening procedures that
have denied port entry rights to ships and prevented passengers
from disembarking. In some cases, local authorities have
permitted disembarkation but subjected passengers to local
quarantine procedures. While the U.S. government has
evacuated some cruise ship passengers in recent weeks,
repatriation flights should not be relied upon as an option for
U.S. citizens under the potential risk of quarantine by local
authorities.

Yup, down for me too until just a bit ago.
Me too.
Thanks, NN. We’re may be in for a rough patch in Florida. So many retirees, attractions etc.
I keep thinking ..6 degrees of separation!
What is a “a federally run isolation facility”, exactly?
Of course, our elder population is high risk, and keeping them off of cruise ships is no easy task. Spring Break will toss an additional variable into the mix. Tourism revenue will definitely suffer with travel curtailed.
Once our warm weather settles in, I'm optimistic that things will improve. Expect to see pockets of cases at Disney, etc., over the summer months.
FRIF first thing that comes to mind is Omaha. That’s where Gilead is running their treatment trials. Or it could be, like Travis AFB, March Field, Miramar, Lackland, same bases as we’ve seen before. Or maybe even a FEMA-designated emergency shelter, lots of them around. Depends on the size of the group, I’d guess?
repatriation flights should not be relied upon**
that should be clear enough for even the snowflakes
Boy, you got that one right.
