Still not a pandemic, though, right?
(By WHO)
well, it’s hit us here in Riverside County, CA - I am officially surrounded :(
Rancho Mirage, CA

also, Murietta, CA
https://ktla.com/news/local-news/71-murrieta-high-school-students-told-to-self-quarantine-while-staff-member-is-tested-for-coronavirus/
and, LA - attendee of AIPAC in DC

NEW: El Salvador will deny entry to foreigners coming from France or Germany due to coronavirus, president says; citizens coming from those countries will be quarantined for 30 days
(already did Italy, Iran, China)
More on Israel:
Netanyahu is making a rookie mistake which I will explain—Coronavirus is making a monkey out of _all_ world leaders.
Lochner cited a source that Netanyahu would be using young people to help with containment efforts. His logic was that they are least at risk.
Rookie error!
Young people _spread_ the disease at the same rate as everyone else.
How do we know this?
One of those early cruise ships (Princess whatever) has tested hundreds of people at this point. They kept track of the positive by age. There was _no_ difference in the rates between the very young and very old. Young people may have no or mild symptoms, but they get the disease and spread the disease.
I was just talking to hubby that maybe we. Wed to think about 6 months.
Travel - State Dept
@TravelGov
U.S. citizens, especially with underlying conditions, should not travel by cruise ship. #CDC notes increased risk of #COVID19 on cruises. Many countries have implemented screening procedures, denied port entry rights to ships and prevented disembarking. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/before-you-go/travelers-with-special-considerations/cruise-ship-passengers.html?fbclid=IwAR23mRlu4-382HLuSM8i0KWQBSaZ4heDniggmxR3kBR6e2EgWiKr6B0EseM
How ironic.
Let us move now to Washington DC. They are totally f(*&ed with a full blown explosion of cases which have not been tested yet.
How do I know this?
The one known case (articles in Washington Post etal) is the Rector (aka Pastor) of Christ Church in Georgetown. This is an Episcopal church where several of the “big wigs” in DC go to worship.
In the few days before he reported symptoms and then was tested he held three separate worship services with a combined total of more than five hundred people in attendance.
Then when you factor in all the folks who may have been at risk at the CPAC and AIPAC conferences (positive test individuals there), you get the idea.
The link I gave earlier shows a total of only eleven people have been tested in Washington, DC!
It does not take a pandemic expert to figure out what this means.
When the tests get started for real in the nation’s capitol, people are going to freak.
If the Rector was involved in Ash Wednesday activities...bohica.
Next: Saudi Arabia.
They have ordered a full quarantine of city of Qarif, population 500,000 to protect the rest of the country from the CV cluster there.
_Smart_ move by the Saudis.
Elk Grove, CA (south suburbish of Sacramento)
LA County is now 14 cases, the most of any SoCal area
Oakland, CA -
more than 3,500 people from 54 countries.
Passengers who need medical treatment or hospitalization will go to health care facilities in California
while state residents who dont require acute medical care will go to a federally run isolation facility within California for testing and isolation, the California Governors Office of Emergency Services said in a statement Sunday.
The crew will be quarantined and treated aboard the ship, but importantly, the ship will only stay in Port of Oakland for the duration of disembarkment. This ship will depart Oakland as soon as possible and will remain elsewhere
Northern Italy in “lockdown “
yet people still usings trains and flights per lookner
Next: Oregon
Reported cases doubled in one day. They still have only tested 80 people. That is the state where the casino worker in the eastern part of the state tested positive. (You can tell that is going to create a cluster.)
But, a lot of the new cases are in the western part in the state, in the Portland suburbs.
So, Oregon is going to be looking at two different major clusters.
The case in DC is also significant because the kind of people that go to church in Georgetown tend to be highly mobile.
There are also now 2 cases in Northern Virginia. One is active military who just returned from work-related travel to Italy. The other is an elderly person who just returned from a cruise on the Nile.
Case #1 in Italy is thought to have been visited by friends from China. Case #1 in Egypt is thought to have been a Taiwanese tourist who had been on a cruise ship on the Nile.
LA is on my list. They just held the marathon there today and the pictures show _big_ crowds.
The Department of Health folks told viewers of the marathon to stay six feet away from others (except for close friends and family). (Like you can’t catch this virus from friends and family, lol.) It didn’t look like people were listening if you look at the crowds.
As for the runners in the marathon, they were offered no such advice.
Hope the runners were not accepting cups of water from the fans, even if they were friends and family.
Expect LA cases to explode when testing gets up to speed.
Total CA tests so far—600, a lot of them in SF area because they already have a bunch of cases there.
California -
Health officials give more urgent warnings to elderly, others at higher risk of contracting coronavirus
California officials have been urging that group to avoid large public gathering, travel and events.
The Santa Clara city library is canceling all programs for the upcoming week, and most programs at the senior center.
San Joses senior meals program will transition to a boxed to-go pick-up format.
...Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, on NBCs Meet the Press. When I say protect, I mean right now. Not wait until things get worse. Say no large crowds, no long trips. And above all, dont get on a cruise ship.
Wait til we see numbers in NYC, once testing ramps up.
Next is Spain, "Others", Germany and France. After that we'll join the big league. I say two weeks until that happens.
the virus is making a mockery of every country
I am very disappointed with the US response..It could have been Trumps best moment
