Passengers who need medical treatment or hospitalization will go to health care facilities in California
while state residents who don’t require acute medical care “will go to a federally run isolation facility within California for testing and isolation,” the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services said in a statement Sunday.
“The crew will be quarantined and treated aboard the ship, but importantly, the ship will only stay in Port of Oakland for the duration of disembarkment. This ship will depart Oakland as soon as possible and will remain elsewhere
LA is on my list. They just held the marathon there today and the pictures show _big_ crowds.
The Department of Health folks told viewers of the marathon to stay six feet away from others (except for close friends and family). (Like you can’t catch this virus from friends and family, lol.) It didn’t look like people were listening if you look at the crowds.
As for the runners in the marathon, they were offered no such advice.
Hope the runners were not accepting cups of water from the fans, even if they were friends and family.
Expect LA cases to explode when testing gets up to speed.
Total CA tests so far—600, a lot of them in SF area because they already have a bunch of cases there.
