Oh Rusty - that sounds awful. It doesn’t seem right to subject yourself to unneeded radiation, so I sure understand how you feel. Maybe he’ll listen to your reasoning.

The story illustrates that new missionaries get bothered by bugs (and other things) in the food. But they get used to it as time passes. Finally, at the end, the seasoned missionary is not only used to it, but if the bug isn’t present, he adds a bug to the field. It’s seasoning, like salt! He adds, “Turn about is fair play,” because by then the seasoned missionary has probably had mosquitoes chomping down on him quite a bit. We estimate that in the 25 years of being here, I probably have had around 50 cases of malaria and one really whopping bad case of dengue fever. It seems only fair that after eating me, I should get to eat one of them!

True story: I used to be bothered by bugs and spiders. They don’t bother me as much anymore. When you’ve had a lizard crawl up the inside of your nightgown and you stop it and then squeeze it to death with your hands, a few mosquitos don’t bother you as much.
Take the second opinion. After radiation, you will lose all taste.

I know what you mean, Rusty. I spent all morning (after several attempts Thursday and Friday) trying to get my doctor’s office. Their hours are erratic and the doctor is only there 2 half days and 1 full day a week. I phone about 12 times this morning, only to get the machine each time. They tell you to NOT leave a message on the machine about an appointment, that you have to call back. Well, after the 12th time, I left a message anyway. I just said to call back if possible with an appointment for me as I had tried calling a dozen times. Otherwise, I’ll just go to the walk-in clinic. Well, they called back and I have an appointment for tomorrow morning.
Do the PET, I think. It shows areas where the cancer most likely is. Skip the radiation, at least until after the PET.

Bless your heart. It is very rough, emotionally, when the docs aren’t as good or as forthcoming as you need them to be. I have learned much from the site “The Truth About Cancer”. I don’t agree with everything they say (for example, they claimed in one video that cancer is a recent disease when, in fact, it was present in Ancient Egypt and Hippocrates wrote about cancer), but their ideas on nutrition and many alternative treatments are helpful.
