They just voted to send them to the Senate. It doesn't matter if it looks bad or is illegal, or not according to precedent...... They can do whatever they want, because NOBODY is stopping them.
The R's can cry all they want & call it a farce. I hate to say it, but the fact is Nancy is right - Trump will always be known as "Impeached".
Schiff abused power, @realDonaldTrump
and other innocent Americans. His misconduct should be on trial in Senate. The Senate should REJECT his appointment as impeachment manager. https://t.co/Sz2CZp62zo— Tom Fitton (@TomFitton) January 15, 2020
As true as that is he should wear it as a “Red Badge of Courage” as it was done purely for political reasons by a biased dim part of the House, totally along party lines.
I really feel that history will not treat Nasty Pig-lousy very kindly.
Now we will see if the rinos in the Senate bare their ugly heads.
That would be a hoot.
What did that FReeper mean by that comment?
Good post.
This is what was said.....
“I am not sure these rallys matter. It seems to have no impact on the GOP. Mitch is in the process of screwing us. His BS Hunter Biden remark is just that. What he is really saying is we are giving the rats their witnesses. A televised parade of people shoving knives into the President and retreating to their MSM safe spaces. In a month we will start hearing the secret vote talk again. Mitch is treating the House process like it was totally legitimate now, no more talk of the unfairness, the fraud whistleblower or Schiffs lies. If you think I am all wet say but say why.”

As I've stated before, I really don't see what the R Senators who want a trial are getting out of this. Are they looking for some reason to vote to impeach? Will they vote to impeach knowing that they will not have 2/3 to remove, but believe a yes vote will help them hold on to their seat? Surely they don't want to hurt Bernie & help Biden by keeping Bernie off the campaign trail for a month or two.
I'm sure Collins & Romney aren't doing it to see Hunter Biden as a witness. If that is the case, they could hold a committee investigation & call him in.
Unless they plan to, or want to, vote for removal, I don't see any reason to hold a trial.
CNN: Youre saying that you never told Senator Warren that a woman couldnt win the election?
Bernie: Correct.
CNN: Warren, what did you think when Sanders said a woman couldnt win the election?

Brian Kilmeade was trying to explain this morning that the few pubbies Senators up for reelection like Cory Gardner, Susan Collins and a few more who are in dim districts will have a hard time hanging on if the Senate appears unfair.
Nasty is banking on this.
All partisan games.
What I worry about is that the Senators haven’t been paying attention to how this travesty has been carried out and they treat it as if it was a fair impeachment by the House.
A Senator earlier said they have been doing Senate business and were not paying attention.
In other words we know much more than they do.
I've heard that theory too. However, I find it hard to believe that somebody will now vote for Collins & others since they were "fair enough" to send them to the Senate but will vote to acquit. Could be though - what do I know?
Seems to me that they would loose an equal amount or more voters who didn't want a trial & see these RINOS as not supporting Trump.
The Senate itself is far from powerless in deciding how the trial proceeds. It has the explicit responsibility of directing all necessary preparations for the consideration of impeachment articles (Rule 7). And it can compel the attendance of witnesses; enforce obedience to its orders, mandates, writs, precepts, and judgments; punish in a summary way contempts of, and disobedience to, its authority; and make all lawful orders, rules, and regulations which it may deem essential or conducive to the ends of justice (Rule 6). As noted above, any member of the Senate can ask that a formal vote be taken on an evidentiary question put to the chief justice (Rule 7). And while the rule has never been used before in the trial of an impeached president, only judges, the presiding officer of the Senate may also appoint a subcommittee of senators to receive evidence and take testimony on its behalf (Rule 11).
*****************************************************
The counsel for both partiesthe House impeachment managers and the White House defense lawyers in this casemust be allowed to appear and speak (Rule 15). All motions, objections, requests, or applications whether relating to Senate procedures or relating immediately to the trial (including questions with respect to admission of evidence or other questions arising during the trial) made by either party must be addressed to the chief justice alone. Upon the request of either the chief justice or any senator, these motions must be communicated in writing and read at the secretarys table (Rule 16). The subpoenas issued by both parties must employ the uncompromising language specified by Rule 25: You and each of you are hereby commanded to appear before the Senate of the United States.... Fail not.
******************************************************
Only one person may examine, and only one may cross-examine, a witness (Rule 17). Should a senator be called as a witness, he or she must be sworn in and provide his or her testimony standing in his or her assigned place in the Senate (Rule 18). Rule 25 specifies the precise oath to be administered to all witnesses. When a senator wishes to put a question to a witness, to a manager, or to counsel for the person impeached, or when the senator wishes to offer a motion or order, he or she must communicate the matter in writing and give it to the chief justice (Rule 19). The parties or their counsel may object to witnesses answering any question put forward and argue the merits. The ruling on any such objection must nonetheless accord with Rule 7 (Rule 19). And no Senator may engage in colloquy (Rule 19). This last rule, that senators actually have to shut up, is going to be tough for a lot of them.

NIKK..I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn last night or take any government classes or law in college so my opinion is pretty much speculation but I would stick my neck out and say.........managers can be subpoenaed but I believe they can refuse to appear....and maybe it will be a Roberts decision....but quite possibly going by the rules are VERY HAZY.
Federal officials say the suspect in the murder of a 92-year-old woman should’ve been turned over to immigration officers months ago.
Authorities say it was back in November when 21-year-old Reeaz Khan was arrested for allegedly attacking his father.
He was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon and then let go.
Federal officials say Khan is in the country illegally from Guyana and they asked the NYPD to turn him over for deportation proceedings. That did not happen and in fact the NYPD says it never got that request, WCBS 880’s Steve Burns reported.
Khan has now been arrested again, accused in the rape and murder of 92-year-old Maria Fuertes in south Richmond Hill last week.
A spokeswoman for Mayor Bill de Blasio says it’s shameful that the Trump administration is politicizing this tragedy.

It’s sickening that Collins and other Senator just think about their own election, not of hoax or country.
Tweety I an not up on this but someone commented the tweets can be found here. Could that be correct?
A Senator earlier said they have been doing Senate business and were not paying attention.
What???
That sounds like a p-poor excuse.
They’ll hide behind that nonsense????
Meant to ping you to my 2877.
