Is Anyone Else Alone on Christmas Eve?

So, this has become an annual thread. Each year I hope to find that special someone and each year, around this time, I realize that I may have to wait another year.

But, I can't complain. Life is good. I made a sweet potato pie from scratch and will share it with the family tomorrow at our Christmas dinner. I'm 59 years-old and have been blessed to have spent every Christmas with my parents? How many people can say that?

But, tonight it's just me, George Bailey on Bluray, some beautiful sacred Christmas music on SiriusXM Holiday Pops and a nice bottle of red wine.

How about you? Anyone else solo this Christmas Eve?

Gods blessings to all, Merry Christmas, Happy Channuka! I am alone and loving it. Christmas was far too busy, it was like I didn’t have a minute to myself. Fire in the fireplace and music on the CD player and just me, yes!!

Isn’t that the way it always is?.. People too busy being busy to pause. And look up. And be thankful for God’s greatest gift to mankind. I think my favorite Christmas song is Silent Night. For that VERY reason.

Hi ....first Christmas Eve alone in 15 yrs. usually at my sons but their girls are grown and on their own so they're all doing other events tonight or working.

However I have little sausages simmering on the stove made with special B-B-Q sauce, grape jelly, orange rind and a bit of garlic... Chewing on tasty macadamia cookies along the way and enjoying now a cup of cinnamon coffee topped off with vanilla Creamer....all is well and content.

Tomorrow Christmas Brunch with the family. I have a huge fruit basket to take with various cheeses and goodies tucked in...and upteen bags of Rectors Chips of all flavors.

Amazingly the weather here was fog all day long and will not lift until tomorrow around 10 am. Looked and felt like London England! lOL..

Enjoy your festive meal and your kitties tomorrow, if I was your neighbor I'd stop by for a visit as the food sounds wonderful! Happy Christmas to you!

I’m alone as the old man has finally gone to bed. Sis and BIL spent the afternoon and we all ate to much.

Kids are in their hometown enduring the dysfunctional family Christmas. Between this evening and tomorrow they have three places to visit.

#1 son said this is the last year for that. He and his wife will do Christmas at their place next year and invite everyone. If feuding parties don’t show up so be it.

Even the lefties I know seem less... pressured.

The smiles have been wide and strangers are talking and joking at the stores and Post Office.

Altogether a wonderful season.

More socializing than in the past few years. Actually have been approached about games group.

It is crazy. You have to qualify with every gun on your permit, but it’s not tough. 2 rounds 5 yards weak-hand, same for strong-hand, 2 hand 4 rounds 5 yards, same at 7 yards. 12 rounds per gun.
