CNN: Trump is just 67 votes away from being an ex-President and it's freaking him out
Communist "News" Network ^ | December 15, 2019 | Dean Obeidallah

Hillary Clinton's nearly 66 million votes in the 2016 election weren't enough to defeat Donald Trump. But just over 0.0001% of that could end Trump's presidency. That's the reality of what Trump faces if he is formally impeached by the House of Representatives later this week, as is expected, prompting a removal trial in the Senate.

In such a trial, the Constitution simply requires two-thirds of the Senate, in this case 67 senators, to vote to convict and remove -- then it's goodbye Trump.

Trump's fate lies in the hands of 20 GOP senators -- the number needed to join the 45 Democratic senators and two independent senators, who normally side with Democrats, to vote to convict him and end his presidency, assuming they all vote to remove Trump.

Yes, it's a huge long shot that 20 Republican senators will vote to send Trump packing, especially given Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's statement last week saying there's "no chance" that Trump will be removed. But as a former trial lawyer, I can tell you that jurors don't always do as expected. And there's always the possibility that more incriminating evidence is revealed about Trump between now and the start of the trial. Even the most secure of US presidents would be unnerved at the prospect that their political demise is only 67 votes away. ]

Trump is going to win this and then what do the Democrats have left to harass him with?

Removing Trump would trigger a civil war.

“In the name of self-preservation they are going to make this go away.”

Reagan always said trust but verify. I will believe your statement after the vote.

That’s why Graham and McConnell. Take no chances. If the quick acquittal is there to be had, take it. Get the b*stards for their crimes in some other venue.

Removing a duly elected President for bogus charges would be the end of the Republican Party. They will never vote to remove him.

It would be the end of our Republic!

So I gave 'em a click and went to read their full article. There they advertise a "Provoke/Persuade Me" newsletter.

I suppose that's their way of trying to justify acting like a bunch of lunatic morons. They're just doing their duty in "provoking" us.

Yes, and besides self-preservation, there is anger brewing among Republicans. This isn’t just about President Trump anymore - the Democrats have stupidly declared war on the Republicans.

Regardless of how they may feel about Donald Trump, I suspect Senate Republicans can’t wait to shove this right back in their ugly Democrat faces.

And CNN is just one "monopoly breakup of airport TV access" away from being the ex-CNN.

Correct. They have to look to the future when a Republican President who will likely be more to their liking than Trump will likewise face a sham impeachment at the hands of loony radical Dems.

Romney or Jeb! would have folded their tent and resigned long before things got to this stage. They have to think about that and then play the long game, regardless of their personal feelings about Trump.

Yup. Even the dullest RINO in the bunch can read the polls saying Trump has the firm support of 95% of Republican voters.

I heard it was 96% but no need to quibble... OUR people are standing firm.

Yes, I am an extreme empath.

I felt pressure on my chest and a tense vibration. Not just heart area, but the entire chest.

It filled the room. I test empathy feelings by placing my flat palm of my right hand in front of my chest. First palm in to feel if it is me generating the feeling. Then palm out. With palm out it blocked me from feeling the anxiety in my chest and could feel it in my palm of hand only. When I turn toward the anxious person it gets much stronger. That’s how I know it’s external.

I do this same thing for pain anywhere in my body including feet, knees, or a headache.
