Subject: Travel Pool 3 — arena arrival
We arrived at the Kellogg arena in Battle Creek around 7:10 PM. It’s a small venue by Trump rally standards but packed. A large Christmas tree is on stage with a Make America Great Again hat atop it, in lieu of a star or other garnish. The crowd is doing the wave, with many carrying green “Keep America Great” signs.
Hogan Gidley told the pool we should expect a Christmas message from the president before he goes into his commentary on impeachment. That part of the speech should last about 30 minutes, he says, which will be about 1/3 of the speech, Gidley says.
The usual soundtrack is playing.
The event is open press.

It’s okay, I didn’t read it that way. I was hearing frustration with your beautiful state being invaded. A perfectly normal reaction.
I’m so sorry you’re in pain tonight. I hope you have some options to try to distract yourself. Or pain pills! With my corneal neuropathy I couldn’t take pain pills, because I was afraid to sleep more than 2 hours because then my eyes would be glued together and I could rip my cornea. I had to come up with things to distract me, just five minutes at a time sometimes, longer if it worked.
There’s an app I just bought, it’s called curable. It’s supposed to help with chronic pain. So far it looks pretty interesting. It’s about retraining the brain and our reactions to the pain.
