E.T. is returning to Earth to reunite with his friend Elliot 37 years after the Steven Spielberg-directed film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, was released in 1982. Actor Henry Thomas reprises his role as Elliot alongside the alien character for Comcasts new four-minute ad called A Holiday Reunion.
And the films fans were delighted to have seen some of their favorite scenes reenacted with E.T. and Elliots kids. From John Williams signature score to Reeses Pieces and a Drew Barrymore-esque scream, the footage shows a revamped version of the beloved movie, including a modern take on the iconic bike scene, during which E.T. and the kids ride into the moonlight.

He’s out of the drunk tank?
He’s out of the drunk tank?
I guess I am the only person on earth who thought that movie was awful.
Oh geez, none of those hellywood nincompoops is able to come up with new and original stuff.
I guess groupthink and PC has destroyed imagination and creativity so they go drag something out of the bag of forgotten and long gone dreams.
That was pretty cool!
How many Mickey Rooney movies were there where to solution was to put on a show.
Squeezing blood from a rock is what Hollywood does.
I watch Independent films that have a budget of 100k or more.
I catch a real winner every now and then.
I just watched the series “Power” on Hulu. It’s about a black kingpin drug dealer trying to go legit and his INSANE Irish best friend and partner.
The Irish guy’s name is Tommy and the actor plays the best Irish gangster role I’ve seen since James Cagney, albeit much more graphic.
Jeez, can’t they come up with *any* new ideas?
I never saw the movie so I just have no interest.
I wouldn't have known that was Henry Thomas without being told.
Never watched it but from what I read it sounds like the script has been used many many times ,LOL
Please no! Gee gag me with a spoon!
Creepy.
Is Moon Unit Zappa doing tv commercials too now?
I thought it was cute, but I’m a sap who cries at dog food commercials. Not sure why E.T. came back, was he lost again? and then wanted/needed help to go back to his family?
I’ve always loved that movie. But we got mad when they changed the LEO’s guns to walkie-talkies...
That great. So funny that many FR whiners here think it’s an ad for a new movie. What a bunch of goobers.
I liked it. It was charming. I thought E.T. came back for a quick visit with Elliott and family.
