Could be. It makes sense.
I thought it was always “ancient alien theorists”...
Reverse slinky? This is an idea, for me to poop on.
Thanks for the pings, CJ Wolf and Swordmaker. No ping, just adding.

That is really impressive. He took the very basic principle of leverage and learned to use it in numerous creative ways. It is definitely something that could be thought of and applied by nearly any culture. An extremely simple and effective technology.
“What would be fun to watch is a new pyramid being built by modern methods.”
Sure, give me the equivalent of the GDP of ancient Egypt for 30 years to work with and I’ll get right on it.
I like it. No “aliens”, just simple knowledge and a little ingenuity.
Yes, multiply the effort by the tons of stone and total mass of something like the pyramids and you still have a requirement for a huge amount of human labor, but nothing that was not doable when you could command all the labor you wanted.
For the ancient Egyptians corvee labor was how they paid their taxes and a religious obligation.
Goa’uld, obviously.
Ice Giants. Who left afterward because who would want to be an Ice Giant in Egypt?
If you didn't have cell phones you might spend a summer doing this as a kid. Kid builds a pyramid and a swimming poolwith ancient skills!

There was a stone found just outside Giza that said,
“Will the last ice giant to leave, plus turn off the sphinx.”
sheesh they were importing cheap semiskilled labor centuries ago...
Another for my “Uh, no” pile:
Engineer stuns archaeology experts by rubbishing their theories about how the pyramids were built

There’s also a guy who claims that the stones were floated up inside water-filled channels. Lots of reasons why that wouldn’t work.

And a guy who claims the stones were rolled (with some attachments), a process which would add to the amount of time needed, or add greatly to the number of workers needed.

And this one is basically the same old idea, but the pretense seems to be, it’s a new idea:

See the keywords for Jean Pierre Houdin or for Joseph Davidovits.
In the 60s Shel Silverstein had a cartoon(Playboy) of a pyramid falling from the sky. In foreground one man saying to other man, “there’s another one!”
I knew it!
I. Just. Knew. It.
Now did he cut out and carve that stone or concrete block with his copper chisels.
