I just got a call from Windflier's wife, he has taken
a downturn from a pre-existing problem and is pretty
much bedridden and not eating.
He has stage 4 Squamous cell carcinoma which I had to look up:
Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the second most
common form of skin cancer. It's usually found on
areas of the body damaged by UV rays from the sun or
tanning beds. Sun-exposed skin includes the head,
neck, chest, upper back, ears, lips, arms, legs, and
hands. SCC is a fairly slow-growing skin cancer.
I'm told he's in good spirits but is now "resistant"
to further medical treatment. Because he's stubborn.
Prayers for him and the family would be appreciated.
Thanks very much.
Here he is during better days:
Windy, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much for thinking of Jen and the kids, Luv.
Obviously we’ve talked a lot about our family’s near term potential prospects. Fortunately, they’ve picked up the slack on nearly all my hats, so I’m confident they’ll make it should worse come to worst.
My wife has been my stable business partner for over twenty years, and our boys have grown into being capable and professional installers since I first put them on ladders at fourteen years of age. There are still a few tricks the old man could teach them, but they’ve got this.
If I have to go, I know that my wife and kids won’t suffer financially because of it. That’s a great comfort to me.
Prayers and love for Windflier, his wife and caregivers. May God Bless.
Thank you for that prayer, Doughty. The Creator is indeed capable of delivering miracles. I've seen them firsthand, and pray that I am worthy of such benevolence now.
You're one of my faves, bud. Don't ever underestimate the value of your contributions to this community.
Thank you for keeping it light, EG. Your post made me chuckle, and that’s good medicine.
Thank you, AW. I appreciate the prayer and all of your pings to interesting topics.
Windy, I know I’m not one of the biggest talkers at our gatherings but I listen. I admired many of your comments online before first meeting you all. Upon meeting you and listening, my respect has only grown. You have shared much insight and wisdom as well as many a great tale. Your conversation has been not just enjoyable but edifying and enlightening.
To add proof of your wisdom, Miss Libertybel is a wonderful, delightful lady. I have visited more personally with her and love her dearly. Your children are an honorable credit to you both.
It breaks my heart to know your family walks through this trouble. My prayers are truly with you. I did a Bible study lesson yesterday on deepening our prayer life with not just belief, faith and hope but to add heartfelt, sincere expectation to all prayers. Windy, I am praying with full expectation that you receive miracles, medical and God-given. I am also praying for your Lady Libertybel and the kids. Be well my brother.
Thank you for this ping Luv. I missed this yesterday but join my prayers with yours.
Prayers up for healing and strength.
Heavenly Father, please hear our prayers.

Prayers up ever higher !!!
Leni
You've got a date.
I've suffered my way back to health from injuries and illness countless times in this life, but nothing prepares you for cancer. It's unlike any illness I've ever dealt with.
I'm accustomed to bouncing back from any illness within a reasonable period of time, but cancer is different. You wake up every morning and it's like Groundhog Day. You're still sick - maybe even sicker than the day before, and it's life threatening.
You're so right that it's a test. Toughest one I've ever endured, but I'm determined to come out on top.
My prayers for you and your family
Thank you for the kind words, Whitey. Back at’cha.
Thank you, Chode. I won’t give up.
You're a dear. Thank you so much for that positive affirmation. It gives me great comfort.
Thank you, Alpha. I appreciate that very much.
Thank you, OO.
Now that brings a smile. I do try not to be annoying with my helpful hints 😉
Thank you for marshaling the prayer warriors on my behalf, Salvation. I appreciate that very much.
I promise to do my part to survive this.
You have the most beautiful and loving family a man could ever want, and I also know that they have your back and will never let you down in any situation.
I just pray that God will let us here on this earth enjoy many more years of your friendship! Take care of you! (((hugs)))
