If you can't post a new status on Facebook, it's not you.
Facebook and Facebook-owned photo app Instagram are down for some users on Wednesday. The social networks have been having issues since around 9 a.m. PT, according to tracking site Down Detecter. Some users have posted on Twitter that they're seeing a message saying Facebook is "down for maintenance."
Other users trying to post status updates on Facebook, including CNET staff, got error messages saying "something went wrong."
Facebook confirmed the outages.
"We're aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps," a Facebook spokesperson said in an email. "We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
Facebook hasn't revealed what caused the outage, but said in a tweet on Wednesday that it wasn't because of a cyber attack known as a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack.
This isn't Facebook's first outage. In November the social network went down in a mishap caused by a test the company was running. That outage lasted about 40 minutes. That same month, Facebook and Instagram were down for hours because of a "server configuration." The outage was also affecting Facebook's ad products.
Welcome to USA history 101...todays topic we study:
how for a short time on Mar 13th, 2019...the USA seized to be a Junior High gossip and drama show
That'll teach you not to hurt my feelings on FB again! 😁😁😁
“In before:
“I deleted my FB account back in 1978.”
Hysterical and true——there’s always a “saint” waiting to post.

My plans are working as designed!
Ah! So it wasn’t just my computer, what I told you about earlier.
“we have downed Boeing 737 Max 8s and Max 9s, downed Facebook, and my dog died. Whats a man going to do?”
Sounds like you should go write a country song!
Youz winz teh threddz.
What Z came up with was quite different than what he was originally hired to write code for.
The number of non-NPCs that have been ejected from Twitter must be in the tens of thousands.
Sorry about your dog
You can shut it down but to destroy all the data it would literally take years.
It’s still down for me. Sounds rather strange that it went down the way it did.
Us postal service tracking is also down dead
Sorry about your dog. Maybe drink a beer and remember the good times.
Horray! I'z a Weiner!
Which "some" users? FReepers, for sure...
Billions of dollars of overvalued stock. And it has gone up today.
So much for trade value being based on performance and deliverables.
Feel free to sell short or buy puts.
America gives you that freedom (at least currently).
