My husband & I keep a small glass jar of mustard seed on our kitchen counter with a small piece of paper neatly in it that has the above scripture on it. It helps to remind us just how important faith really is.

My easiest traced Reed progenitor George was a POW in the Revolutionary War, bayoneted in the leg, paroled, and then went back to fight again - born in VA and served in NC.
I think the different spellings actually have to do with which side of the Scot/English border the lineage came from as most were situated along the line - unless they came out of Germany - which is a whole other thing.
