hi tiana.. sweet or dill juice? Is it the ACV that does the work.? ACV seems to be the new miracle “aspirin” of our times

Hi all.. wifi non existent past few days. Have it here now .. for how long? Im leaving shortly

Missing Lucy terribly. Still singing (actually it is coughing) the bronchiltis/pneumonia blues

cold, plenty of snow .. think it is the same front that went through Indiana...and unpleasant out. VERY grateful to be in room —not van for now..

later all.. Keep the news coming.

Oh BTW, the mugs are cute but we need some voodoo dolls instead. A Nasty one, a Shoooooomer one, An Accosted one, A Gingsburg.. etc.. throw in a dozen or more athletes and performers who ... who... well, you all KNOW.

hugs to the Deplorables on the Trump Train

I wonder what the Vapor Rub does in the ear, if it melts ear wax I will give it a try! I hadn’t thought about using it on my sore elbows, that would probably be very warming and healing. I’ll have to go see if I have an old jar sitting around.

LOL, voodoo dolls! I think you have started a new Trump train hobby :-)

Glad you are warm and dry. I know you will miss Lucy for quite some time. It usuually takes me months to quit looking for my fur kids in the places that they used to hang out. With little cashmere that took me a good six months to realize I no longer had to brush or feed three cats. There had been 3 out of the same litter for so long together.

the menthol in vapo rub works much like essential oils. Absorbs through skin. Anti bacterial.. some of the oils are better for bacteria and also virus and fungus. Can mix with the Vicks and just rub at temples, under ears .. wherever. It is absorbed to system no matter where it is put.

Most EO you need a carrier base/oil of some sort as the EO are very concentrated and some people can’t take direct contact. I mostly use coconut oil. but others work well.. Olive oil, etc

Oh yes. Me too. I love pickles.

I forgot to mention it needs to be DILL pickle juice. I have no idea if the sweet one works too. But just A good swig (drink or two) of dill pickle juice will kill even the worst devil Charlie horses anywhere or heat muscle cramps very quickly. It has been a Godsend for me (and roofers).

It’s about 1.5 hours west of us. We live close to 30 minutes north of Syracuse.

The Vapor Rub reminded me, I found a bottle of eucalyptus oil that I have. I was looking for some nice smelling oil to put in my bath last night. I chose the lavender for relaxation. The smell of the eucalyptus really isn’t all that pleasant. But I can’t remember what I bought it for! What is it good for?

I love it up there. Mom was from Springwater. Happy memories of visiting my grandmother there, going over to Naples to pick concord grapes, grape pie, etc. Oh and looking for crayfish out back in the stream.

Good morning DollyCali. I just use the regular Claussen Dill pickles. They are my favorite. My son-in-law says the roofers use any dill pickles.

I thought it might be the vinegar too. But after looking it up a little it turns out it is a combination of the salt, vinegar and I think the garlic too. Like salt tablets for heat injuries and such. Only much better.

“I thought it might be the vinegar too. But after looking it up a little it turns out it is a combination of the salt, vinegar and I think the garlic too”

That’s funny because I have always drank pickle juice. Or the pickling juice from beets. Or cherry peppers. And I’ve always wondered if I was doing my stomach damage. Sounds like it was actually a good thing after all, for my muscles at least. I’ve never been bothered by cramps at all.

Eucalyptus and Tea Tree both stink! But are wonderful. both are analgesic and anti-inflammatory..

A more pricey and better fragranced is Frankincense ... also excellent. there are a lot of good ones. Most are antibacterial to a degree..even the soothing ones like lavender right now in my diffuser I have a combo of Lemon grass and Eucalyptus

I attribute the use of oils to keeping the worse edge off a lot of my recent maladies. ..

Tiana IIRC about a year ago on this thread we had a discussion on muscle cramps and someone said yellow mustard.. a spoonful helped. Was it for muscle cramps or something else? sigh my memory

“I have a combo of Lemon grass and Eucalyptus”

That triggered a memory, I used to mix the two and that would making fragrance of the eucalyptus tolerable.

Thanks!

After my pickles are gone I usually put a slightly blanched batch of cauliflower in jar. never thought of just drinking the stuff.. I let the cauliflower season for a week or so. I can recall my mom making “chow chow” with various products from garden. My favorite part os that blend was the cauliflower.

“anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, decongestant, deodorant, antiseptic, antibacterial, and stimulant.”

Sounds like eucalyptus does it all. But it is especially good for this time of year. Sounds like I don’t need Vapor Rub, from the aroma of it I’m guessing eucalyptus and menthol is part of it’s ingredients.

there really isn’t a bad or unhealthy blend of oils that I know of. It is fun to experiment

Over the years I have done a lot mixtures. Rosemary, wintergreen, spearmint, oregano, ginger... so many good ones. I have a decent sized stash of oils. This is my prepper health collection. That plus the generic excedrins, carrier substance for oils (can use a lot of things as I mentioned prior... even plain old petroleum jelly or crisco (neither are as sexy as coconut oil..LOL)
