Did anyone else make this connection?

Protesters in the French nationalist movement have taken to wearing yellow vests and jackets. Anyone else made this striking connection?

Uh, no. Its a gas tax protest. They make them wear the vests when their cars break down...or run out of gas. Thats why they are wearing them-the vests are related to their cars and the fact they wont work because they are too expensive to drive because of the gas tax. Chris Berman says Come on man!

All French vehicles are required to have said vests for when there is a breakdown on the roadside.
It has become a uniform.
I read that the requirement is for two vests per vehicle.

Lots of non-threatening apparel that’s also inconspicuous.

No, about 4 or 5 days ago.

In the past two years, the yellow vest requirement even started up for German cars. You have to carry one in the trunk and wear it if there is a breakdown on the road. I think you can buy it for around 3-Euro.

Great photo, reminds me of the Chinese pic of the lone guy facing tanks in T-square.

Well
Ok.
I wonder if they are supplied by car manufacturers/dealers, or if the socialist French government gives them out?
I have to have life jackets for each person on my boat. I never wear them but they are there for emergencies.

Cars in Europe are required to keep a yellow vest in case they break down and the driver can be seen if they stand by the car.
Its more a uniform of the middle class.
To: Vermont Lt
first of all, the whole deal is fallacious
The vests are not in fact yellow nor even a shade of yellow
The vests are daglo green, a shade of green
I presume the French have no word for the color and substitute yellow

Uh, no. Its a gas tax protest. Ok, but I think it's more than a gas tax now.

Interesting Coincidence. Frenchare required by law to have a yellow vest in their car for safety reasons by law. So everyone has them.
