(AP) Nairobi, Nigeria -- Prince Alab Swalahari was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his palace in Nairobi on Tuesday. A note next to his body stated that he was despondent that no one would accept his attempt to give away his vast riches.
His brother explained, "Alab had converted to Christianity quite some time ago. All he was trying to do was live a Christ-like life! Christ commands us to give our money to the poor. He tried for over 15 years, sending people emails to give away his money, but all he got back was mockery and hate. I guess it finally became too much for him."
Swalahari had recently been the target of a United States-initiated FBI investigation, and Interpol was scheduled to interview him a few days before his suicide.
Said his mother, "I am so incredibly sad. My son! All he was trying to do was give away his money, and the world would not believe him! Why are people so cruel?"
The fortune Swalahari was attempting to give away totaled more than 46 billion Naira, which is approximately 127 million dollars in United States currency. His lawyer remarked, "Obviously there would be some fees for transfer of this large amount of money, but when we asked for the few thousand dollars to make the transfer happen, not one person was willing to do it..... and several dozen people even contacted the authorities!"
Funeral arrangements will be held at Kenyatta Funeral Parlour, 128 Thiika Hwy South, this coming Wednesday.

" I'll wait for the movie"
But no one dies on the internet - we will probably keep getting messages from the Prince, and also probably from his family (who will doubtless be inspired by his example).
Not having read the article, should this be in breaking news?
“My humor is the very darkest of all.”
Brother, can you spare a penny?
He never emailed me!
My Nigerian barrister just emailed me. The funds should be in my account by Monday...
You're heartless, I tell you, heartless.....
Everyone who prayed “God, give me the chance to prove that riches won’t change me” was given the opportunity.
YOU WINZ DEE INTERTOOBS
Funny stuff!
I double checked to make sure I did not sleep in for 4 months.
You should start a GoFundMe for him.
This is so sad. If only you had acted, and accepted his money, Prince Salawari would be alive today>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yes, your are right about that. Sometimes we make the stupidest mistakes in not just giving in , loosening up and going with the flow of the hearts we have, and which we should always wear on our shirt sleeves!
Failure to accept generosity has caused an unnecessary death
and now I must seek forgiveness from his family and send my account information and routing number to them, even though I do not need or want their money.
I have all of my retirement savings in that account, over 700 K so I do not need their money. I hope they will feel better about their loss of the Prince when they see that I already have over 700 thousand dollars.
If only Al Sharpton knew how kind we are!
I will never assume anything ever again. I’m soooo ashamed of myself now for rejecting every generous offer of money that comes to me via my Yahoo e-mail Spam folder, especially from places like Nigeria, Somalia, Ethiopia and “Chad”. However, I’m not sure if the Prince of Chad isn’t really Al Gore, and if it is, then I’ve got your number, pal!
Do you write for the Onion and/or BabylonBee?
This is too good!
Please add me to your Ping List. I don’t want to miss out on future Nigerian Prince giveaways...
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Lazmeister! :-D
