State Department says reports about ‘final conclusion’ on Khashoggi ‘are inaccurate
The State Department on Saturday insisted that despite recent reports, the U.S. had not yet reached a determination regarding the death of writer and activist Jamal Khashoggi, and that there remain “numerous unanswered questions.”
The department’s statement came a day after The Wall Street Journal said the CIA had determined that Khashoggi’s death came at the directive of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS). That story was first reported on by The Washington Post.

RE: the term wetback
Growing up in Texas with several Hispanics amongst our family lineage the term was typically (by family anyway) only used in instances where we now say “illegals.” Living in San Antonio especially the word was used among the Hispanic population to differentiate between legal and illegal.
When I started dating my dad specified “don’t you ever bring home a wetback” tho. His life experience was that “wetbacks” were looking for a path toward legality so he had a logical reason.
Fast forward 45 years, and I married my co-worker from Maine. 98% of my extended family are from Texas or Arizona so lots of Hispanics. The first time I took my hubby to a family reunion someone in the family of Hispanic heritage mentioned a grandparent who was a “wetback.” My new (at the time), very white, Mainer husband pops up and says, “my mother’s dad was a wetback too.” Turns out hubby’s granddad was Scots and worked abord a merchant ship. He jumped ship in port in Maine and swam to shore. In his lily white family they still use that term as “illegal, swimming to America.”
Probably the term has been corrupted by our PC nation. Not everyone using the term is using it as a racial slur. But the more the left cries “Racist!” the more the term will be racist. The PC police now tell us that using the word “illegal” is racist. When I was a child we were told the polite way to refer to African Americans was, Negro. Then that became ugly and we were told to say “black.” Now it’s African American. Language evolves this way in our country. But it’s been driven by angry libs for my entire life. These words don’t make the speaker ugly, the heart of the speaker makes them ugly. The word is spoken in love by both my husband and my cousin of each grandparent.

Sadly, my “religion” (i.e., Satanism) entails rituals and practices that no decent person with a functioning brain would engage in, and which are known to maim the conscience, soul, and brain. What’s odd about that is.... I adopted my Satanic faith before I was injured...but that’s another 47 stories for another time.
Since then I fell on the stairs *ha ha ha*. Yeah that was a hoot when I read that I was “running downstairs” in “heels”...can you believe it? And...and....”carrying a coffee cup!” AHAHAHAHA! Like I carry my own coffee!!!! *cough!* *cough!* He he he! *head bobbles uncontrollably*
Since then I’m held upright by a body brace and either tethered to a car seat or seated on the lap of an unfortunate bodyguard. “Unfortunate” because I LOATHE bodyguards and treat them like trash! *left eye wanders off, wanders back*
It’s all Bill could do to compose himself when I basically howled at the moon during my campaign’s balloon drop. I can’t WAIT to be president! Ok there may be 65-70 vaccines - but the list you have at that site includes a large number that aren’t mandatory for kids. Plus there are a lot that are just variations or different combinations/formulations for the same thing. You wouldn’t get all those just the one your doctor proscribed.
As an example: Anthrax. - started to be required for all military in the mid 90s just as I was getting out. Not required for kids.
Cholera - recommended when traveling to certain countries. Mandatory when joining the military. Not required for kids.
My kids did get more than me but not by much. They did get combinations that weren’t available when I was a kid (DTAP-HPV for them. Polio, tetanus, and diphtheria for me - not sure I got pertussis). And they got boosters I didn’t really see a lot of. Overall they probably got 30 % more shots then me - but then I was too young to recall exactly what I got...and I got shot up big time when I went in the service with everything.
My sister got smallpox but I was one of the first groups that didn’t in the late 60s. My girls didn’t get it as it wasn’t required.
Varicella is required in some states not all and not recommended if you’ve had chicken pox or shingles before.
They did try to require HPV for my girls but we said no - as we didn’t believe it had been tested enough and they weren’t active with boys. We did tell them if they became active they should consider it...but we recommended they just avoid the need :)
