Personally, I don’t see it as a problem with political correctness. In the town where I grew up, there were many Americans of Hispanic dissent. In school, some students who wanted to abuse others would accuse them of being “wetbacks.” In fact, our bus driver was called “wetback” by a student (yeah, we sat in a motionless bus for a lonnnng time until the student was identified).
The term became “racist” because of its misapplication (i.e., to imply all who are of Mexican dissent must have swam here illegally) So I grew up genuinely disliking the term from it’s misuse. I agree times have changed and prefer to avoid a term open to charges of racism. Just my two pesos. (see what I did there?)

The "n-word" indeed does what you said, but "wetback" is descriptive and specific.
N-word is a vile racial slur unfairly applied by bigoted morons (including rappers) to all black people. Skin color is meaningless, benign, and certainly not the doing of the targeted individual.
Just for the record...
"Wetback" details the immediate condition upon arriving in US territory as an illegal alien having crossed or swam the Rio Grand...(wet)...which is absolutely a decision and action taken by the criminal trespasser, who should be apprehended, prosecuted and deported.
I don't have any problem referring to them with a descriptive term. By the way, there are also "drybacks". Is that offensive to you too?
"Wetback" does not apply to the invader's relatives who stayed home, nor to any of his relatives on this side of the border, who have acquired residency in a legal fashion, either with a work visa, or who has gained US citizenship.
I'm not even sure it applies to any particular color of skin pigmentaion..

I failed to include a prayer in the ping for the victims and families of victims of the fires in California. The numbers confounded reason, or so I thought. How could THAT MANY PEOPLE be dead or missing?

I’ve been watching closely on another board and on FB. The devastation is really unimaginable. So many of the missing are elderly, the desperation of their families is heartbreaking.
The animals being found are horribly burned and in many cases unrecognizable from their former pictures.
The pictures coming out are like hell.
I appreciate your comments. I see nothing in your post that suggests any meanness. I do have some thoughts that I want to share from your response.
I accept the concept that Q has many dimensions and many audiences. I would like nothing better for Q to fully pan out. This is largely based on hope. Perhaps there is some larger proof - the Q clock might be the proof. Admittedly, I have not spent any time on the Q clock analysis. Perhaps Q has loftier goals and that would be even sweeter. But for me, the only key is taking down the Deep State or at very least making a number of the people pay the price - hopefully through indictments that will yield consequences. I hope the military tribunals come to pass. The key word in this is hope. But that is where the questioning for me becomes. I am not unduly impatient. I would rather wait to get the indictments right then get short term satisfaction that ultimately fails.
As to Q being a LARP - I wouldn’t suggest that. It seems clear to me that Q is from a patriot. The best explanation that I saw was from Imperator Rex (who has been suspended from twitter- this social media bias is another level of outrage). He had a thread explaining several levels of communication for Trump. He was agnostic to Q but noted that it spurned many thousands of hours of research for free which is a no cost benefit to Trump. Bottom line Q has been beneficial. I totally agree with that.
I am one of those who questions. I recognize that I have confirmation bias but I welcome challenges to my point of view.. I did want to specifically point out that the efforts of those who follow Q, perform and disseminate quality research are to be commended. Intelligent challenges to any comments and conclusions are welcomed and add to the discussion. I agree that there are real jerk offs that add no value in their commentary. They are easy to spot.
I wanted to point out 2 people that have commentary that I highly respect and look forward to reading multiple times a day. Yet they tout as Q proofs something that I labeled as delusional to be considered as a proof. They are invested in Q so much (as that is what their daily writings focus on) that I believe they lose the forest for the trees.

Wetback has undergone the same transformation. While it was specific, it has become a word applied all Hispanics without regard for their legal status. It also turned into a racial slur. But then again, you live in Maine, so racial slurs are just a way of life there.

I was listening to Larry Elder a few days ago. He had a guest on who was quite knowledgable on Calif forestry situation and his assessment was that the money for forest management was shifted to sanctuary cities and therefore Trump is correct...poor forestry management by state of Ca contributed to horrific wildfires-—— but because of lack of funds. No mention of how fires started, but money diverted to sanctuary cities/support of illegals TO THE DETRIMENT OF CITIZENS further demonstrates how little the dems value us, the citizens of this country and will do anything to get votes, money, power.
(Life got in the way of Q so posting delay= 6 hours. )
