Recently I spent some time at NJ Best Buy store waiting for service at cell phone department. Loged to their Network and internet access. Loaded FReerepublic page, when trying to load second page, my access got blocked with message about "innapropriet" content. That was it! Looks like communist fingers are getting long.
We are [bleeped]!
TBH, I wouldn’t know because if I am in a store, my focus is on finding the product I am looking for. Why browse the Web on my phone in a store?
If at all true then think about that-—a company deciding on the political content of something on customers’ wifi permissible. Like a thin lipped school marm punishing happy children out of spite.
What’s a Best Buy?
Is that the Amazon Showroom?
I don’t really do blogs when I go to BB.
NO BIG DEAL.
There is a thread on Hardee’s blocking FR. Try that one.
M’Kay ... just heard stories is all.
Who knows? Its their servers. There is some stuff put up here that maybe a private company wouldnt want showing up on a network they own, especially if they want to remain apolitical.
The company I worked for and since retired from after thirty five years several years ago got the bright idea that Victorias Secret website was innapropiate content. So, it was blocked. Well, turns out the women employees squealed so loud the company unblocked it. Go figure, lol...
I quit buying stuff from them years ago when they really started screwing people over.
Wow, we’re underground radicals. Who’d of thought?
“just heard stories is all.”
Did you also stay at a Holiday inn?
Why log-on to a strange network when your cell phone connection is probably faster?
Well the censorship runs deep as one of my posts was JUST censored off of FR!! Apparently saying “VOMIT” is a no-no.
No, they block FR. Same by me at a Best Buy in Virginia. Huffpo is unblocked. They may just use a canned policy by their firewall vendor, or their IT shop or senior management is run by left wing hacks.
I usually don’t shop there unless I find a deal on Slickdeals, but I noticed it a while ago too.
May I suggest it may be some of the words posted at a given time?
FR not as clean as it used to be. Lots of cussing and disguised cussing going on...as in the OP. Never mind suggestive comments.

I am a very happy elite plus member for the last few years.
I have written off all Minnesota companies for personal business, and it is approaching that point for professional business. It’s either liberal virtue signaling crap or stuck in cookie cutter mode.
I also do not recognize any professional license issued by that state.
Did you try DU to see if they were also left aged as inappropriate?
Holiday Express my company puts me up in. And yes, I’ve heard stories about some of them but the ones we’ve stayed we didn’t have any issues. So your point being?
How 1990s. Worst buy. Lol
Went into a Best Buy years ago, probably about ten-twelve now.
I wanted to buy an HDTV. I looked at their models and found one I liked. A salesman came over and I asked if they would lower the price on their floor model by $100.00.
He told me he would have to check with the manager. He did so. The manager said that would be fine. The salesman wrote up the HDTV I selected, and had to go back to the manager one more time. It’s been so long now I don’t remember it all.
He came back again, with everything worked out with the manager. I paid for the TV.
After doing so I mentioned that my wife and I had intended to ear nearby, and asked if it would be okay if we picked up the television after we ate. He said fine.
So my wife and I went over to the Outback, had dinner, and returned.
I didn’t see my television close by, so I asked the salesman to see if they could bring it up front. I was ready to go.
He and other salesmen came to me and explained that they had sold me the wrong television. I said, no, that’s the exact one we discussed and the manager approved two times.
Long story short, they grabbed my receipt out of my hands and refunded my money, all the while looking at me like I had tried to pull off the crime of the century.
All I had tried to do was purchase a television. I didn’t see the original retail price. I only looked at what it was marked as. And if I was trying to pull off the crime of the century, why would I go elsewhere, have a nice relaxing dinner and come back? I would have taken that television at once.
When I went outside I couldn’t get in my vehicle for a moment. A customer who had witnessed the whole thing thought I was a some sort of bad buy, so he intentionally pulled his vehicle within inches of mine, with me in-between.
Honestly, I will never step foot in a Best Buy again.
I went back to Costco and purchased a television within minutes, we had seen earlier.
I read where their geek squad really messes up people’s PC’s when brought in for repair and download some sensitive stuff from them.
