So, the continuation of my business training trip is sending me to Phoenix Arizona for a week. My road trips include Meteor Crater, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Phoenix Natural History museum.

Does anybody (espically rock hounds/astronomy nuts) have any suggestions for science/space attractions? I will be there during peak viewing for the Perseid Meteor shower and would love to do some meteor watching or visit an observatory.

Sedona is a MUST SEE!! Go up to the Catholic Church, no longer a Church, built by Frank Lloyd Wright...the view is unbelievable!

If you find yourself a little bit south in Tucson, I found the Pima Air & Space Museum to be very good.

There's also a Titan Missile Base turned into a museum

+1 on this. Also, in Phoenix, Camelback Mountain is a nice afternoon trip. Saguaro Lake is very nice and watch a sunset shining on the Superstition Mountains!

Kitt Peak Observatory 22 miles southwest of Tucson. I’m not sure if Mt. Graham Observatory is open, east of Tucson, but you can check. Agree that the Desert Museum in Tucson is a don’t miss.

Yes to Sedona, and the drive there is an event in itself. Consider getting up very early to drive out to the desert to see the sun rise. Followed by Huevos Rancheros at the nearest diner. That’s a good start to your day!
