NASA shared photos of the capsule's transfer to the White House lawn in a tweet July 21. The display was part of the Made in America showcase, an annual product display launched by President Donald Trump to highlight American manufacturing. The capsule earned its place thanks to its production by Lockheed Martin in 2011 and 2012 using parts manufactured by more than a thousand companies based in the U.S., NASA officials wrote.
This specific Orion capsule is the only one to have flown so far, during a test flight on Dec. 5, 2014, according another NASA tweet about the display. The vessel was brought to the capital sheathed in plastic, then unwrapped and hoisted over the fence that surrounds the White House.

In the remake I thought Keanu Reeves made a great Gort.

The Fraud hadn’t yet had his promised flexibility after the 2012 election yet.
They expect people to actually survive on that tiny capsule on a trip to Mars?! Does anyone at NASA actually have a brain? You need a much larger ship, adequate crew space, adequate food for the very extended voyage, emergency air supplies, emergency repair parts, etc, etc. This isn’t a 2 week moon voyage, guys.
A replica Sputnik wouldn’t have surprised me either.
He didn’t cancel the shuttle. The shuttle had hit multiples of its expected useful life. He was the 5th president in a row to not bother to greenlight the replacement, but he didn’t kill it.
Good riddance to the space shuttle. Wasteful program that accomplished little outside what ordinary unmanned space flight could accomplish, plus 14 dead.

Trivia. In the original Movie, the Director was asked how the guy got in and out of the Robot Suit since there were no obvious openings.
He replied that there two Robot Suits. One with a zipper in the front and another with a zipper in the back.
