Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Friday that it’s time to discuss what the Second Amendment “means in the modern world” in light of last week’s mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Ms. Rice, who served under President George W. Bush, said that while the Second Amendment remains “indivisible,” she doesn’t think civilians should have access to guns like the AR-15, which was used by 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz to fatally shoot 17 students and teachers on Valentine’s Day.
“I think it is time to have a conversation about what the right to bear arms means in the modern world,” she told radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt. “I don’t understand why civilians need to have access to military weapons. We wouldn’t say you can go out and buy a tank.”

Why would you think those words should mean anything other than what they have always meant, Condi?
As a matter of fact, those words were thought an essential precondition to the very ratification of the Constitution itself. In a real sense, without those words we have no Constitution.

AR-15: AR stands for Armalite...NOT assault rifle.
They can never allow themselves to admit that it’s the nihilistic, post-modern leftward tilt that has occurred in the culture that is to blame. To do that would mean admitting that everything the left believes is wrong, thus they blame the guns instead.
Actually anyone can buy a tank, without a license, (unless they want to drive it on the street which requires a drivers license and retrofitting it with turn signals and stoplights and rubber tread) if they have the money.
Even mount a machine gun on it if they have the money and get the Class 3 license.
Ammo for the artillery tube is a bit more problematic, but even a license for that is within the realm of possibility.
