Dennys is best known for their signature Grand Slam breakfasts, but that may have just changed...
All eyes are on their fairly new, not so appetizing mascot-type thing that a lot of people think bears a striking resemblance to feces.
Denny's was probably aiming for a friendly sausage as their mascot, but at best we have a face that seems more like it's welcoming us to the bathroom than a restaurant and some people are straight up calling it a "turd."

The last thing anyone wants in a restaurant is a mascot. No on ever went to or returned to a restaurant for the mascot.
Good food. Friendly staff. Clean place.
Get those three right and you’ll never want for customers.

Man, doesn’t anyone ever seek a second opinion before they launch a new logo, mascot or name? I had a friend that was a genius at making irreverent names and phrases out of everyone’s new logos, etc. The day of release he could rip off two or three, then, a few weeks later one of these would be all over the internet or somehow else out in popular parlance.
This Denneys’ ad is so bad, someone needs to get fired, once they quit laughing.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with a mascot which clearly depicts the companies products.

I sure don’t see it. I guess others do otherwise nobody would have complained, but I sure don’t see a resemblance to feces here.

When you consider that some advertising agency, somewhere, probably charged $750,000 to come up with the artwork and the designs and the smaller versions that go on the menus and the sloganeering...and then the dies and work that went into the standups for the fronts of the restaurants...you just have to wonder.
