You’ll see the exact same thing with an oatmeal box and a flashlight.

I’m staying home and reading a book until Wednesday when all this ridiculous hoohoo dies down. But to each his own.

" Spam!

It is delicious and healthful.

And has no shelf-life.

Don`t forget a fruit cake! They last at least 100 years and if you run out of bullets, just break off a chunk and use it in your muzzle loader.

Prepper Ping - The upcoming solar eclipse !

Don't look at the sun directly
Even double sunglasses over other sunglasses is insufficient
Expect massive traffic jams, and no travel movement during the eclipse
If you don't already have hotel/ motel accommodations expect triple housing expense more than normal.
Rumor has it that many gas stations along the route have run out of fuel.
Regional cellphone towers may be overloaded and calls may not get through; have a paper map for navigation.

They have already run out of fuel on Saturday?!
Great. I am not gonna travel with a can of gas in the car.
I am definitely not counting on cellphone service; if I have a signal, great.

A couple of stations did run out of gas but it was temporary. They refilled.

I saw the Transit of Venus in 2012 from the bank of the Mississippi.

This is small potatoes.

Yes, Oregon. The only gas stations I heard that ran out of gas were a couple of them near Prineville, Oregon where there is a mass gathering of 30,000 people. The traffic was backed up for 30 miles and the last 8 were stop and go. That was on Thursday. Keep you tank topped and you should be fine.

Oregon Coast, even in the area of totality is eerily quiet. A news a reporter on scene figured there was a 50-50 chance that the coast may be clouded at totality and that was causing people to go East. There have been motel room cancelations. Lincoln City had a 90% full rate, down from 100%

How crazy. I’m in the Midwest within 3 hours drive of totality, but spotty clouds are predicted so I’m trying to have flexible navigation plans for Monday morning (just hoping 2 million people aren’t changing their plans at the same time).

Mr. mm and I were going to go down to SC and visit my sister and watch it, but the weather forecast is for mostly cloudy and some stuff came up here at home so we decided not to.

Sounds like the right decision.

Clean underwear in case you survive the bear attack.

Some sort of self defense weapon - such events also bring out the really crazy ones.

I have my eclipse glasses that hubby bought for me and our daughter and grand kid. Though I’m not sure I’ll be awake to see it, since my days and nights are so mixed up right now.
