My border collie girl had to be put down when she was almost 14, will be two years she’s been gone and I still cry. I freaked out once when I saw a BC that looked exactly like her. The owner let me hug her (the dog) and bawled like a baby. We went for coffee after and she let me hold her lead. It was great therapy.

Every time I see that photo I curse Obama for ALL the unnecessary loss of American blood and treasure. He undermined our military’s every effort to succeed. May his soul burn in hell for eternity.

They understand. People think cats are very stand-offish, but they just express things differently. The two we have now are the most affectionate we’ve ever had, and can’t stand to see a lap sitting around empty.

My husband is usually up first in the AM, and if I don’t get up soon after, one of them is in the bedroom patting at my face to get me up and going.

Wonderful pictures. Unfortunately my screen got blurry.

My two tortoise-shell cats are sleeping on the floor next to my chair. I'd hug them but I don't want to disturb their nap.

Their markings resemble those on a tortoise. Other than that, they are just plain cats. Mine are very affectionate, but I'm not sure if that's typical of the breed.

If I cry, our male cat will sit on my lap and “pet” my cheek for a while.
