Washington (CNN)Attorney General Jeff Sessions did not disclose meetings he had last year with Russian officials when he applied for his security clearance, the Justice Department told CNN Wednesday.
Sessions, who met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at least two times last year, didn't note those interactions on the form, which requires him to list "any contact" he or his family had with a "foreign government" or its "representatives" over the past seven years, officials said.
Sessions initially listed a year's worth of meetings with foreign officials on the security clearance form, according to Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores. But she says he and his staff were then told by an FBI employee who assisted in filling out the form, known as the SF-86, that he didn't need to list dozens of meetings with foreign ambassadors that happened in his capacity as a senator.
The FBI declined to comment for this story.

Screw the FBI; screw the CIA; screw all of them. We don’t need or want them; we will protect ourselves.
Oh, indeed.
Old news....carry over of a previous mistake. Looks like some auditor type is trying to give legs to the Russian connection while the real story is Seth Rich and improved foreign relations abroad.
this is at least the third time that this story has been recycled by the MSM. F****g commie dolts.
Dont believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.
We should find and post reliable sources and if the story is a lie have already deconstructed the lie and replaced it with the truth and with a headline that says the truth.
Well it’s being fed and encouraged by the REPUBLICANS by NOT standing up for us, OUR PRESIDENT AND PARTY!!! I’m so angry I’m spitting nails!!! I DESPISE RYAN and the rest of RINOS!!!!
Sessions did exactly the thing he was supposed to do, CNN acknowledged exactly that in the story, and this is a story how?
Two possibilities exist: nobody who understands what the process for adjudication a security clearance actually involves signed off on this story, or someone who does signed off on it knowing full well that it was an inaccurate smear. I guess it could be both.
There are tens of thousands of background investigators and FBI agents who know that foreign contact as part of your official duties as a government official don’t belong on an SF-86, including probably a dozen or so on CNN’s payroll, but CNN decided to call the FBI public affairs office and leave a message. Garbage.
You’re being sarcastic, right? This is a nothing burger.
Right. If the activity is part of the job, a record already exists, and you do not need to clutter-up your SF-86.
Twenty-four years experience in security, here.
There is no law talking to a Russian or even having Pooty Poot swing pom poms for you as much as the Dems want you to think that there is.
CNN is not a news organization.
Then Jeff Sessions can lead the FBI because he didnt file the paperwork properly.
The difference is that we give the Democrats a pass on their transgressions. They don't offer us the same courtesy.
FIRST on CNN? Really? This is re-tredded “news” from the days of yore of the Senate hearings on Sessions AG nomination. Is CNN running out of sheyate to throw?
Having filed SF-86s periodically my entire adult life, that is the standard instruction. You don't report official foreign travel and officially sanctioned work-related foreign contacts.
Again, this is nothing.
In plain sight, this is the deep state throwing shit on the wall cuz they’re scared to death of who’s going to Club Graybars.
The difference is he id the paperwork properly. There is no transgression.
What will post next?... "Dewey captures Manila"
Bullcrap. This that group meeting with other senators again? Besides, Trump can give him clearance. The president runs DOJ, not the other way around.
They have to go after Sessions before they get to Trump.
