The Physicist Who Denies Dark Matter

To understand this problem, one needs to wrap one’s head around some celestial rotations. Our planet orbits the sun, which, in turn, orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy. Inside solar systems, the gravitational pull from the mass of the sun and the speed of the planets are in balance. By Newton’s laws, this is why Mercury, the innermost planet in our solar system, orbits the sun at over 100,000 miles per hour, while the outermost plant, Neptune, is crawling at just over 10,000 miles per hour.

Now, you might assume that the same logic would apply to galaxies: The farther away the star is from the galaxy’s center, the slower it revolves around it; however, while at smaller radiuses the measurements were as predicted by Newtonian physics, farther stars proved to move much faster than predicted from the gravitational pull of the mass we see in these galaxies. The observed gap got a lot wider when, in the late 1970s, radio telescopes were able to detect and measure the cold gas clouds at the outskirts of galaxies. These clouds orbit the galactic center five times farther than the stars, and thus the anomaly grew to become a major scientific puzzle.

One way to solve this puzzle is to simply add more matter. If there is too little visible mass at the center of galaxies to account for the speed of stars and gas, perhaps there is more matter than meets the eye, matter that we cannot see, dark matter.

In high school, if the math does not work until you add in something make believe, your answer is probably wrong.

Apparently if you apply that logic to the real universe you get called names.

>>Perhaps we are not properly applying ... <<

More likely, Halton Arp is correct and red shift has been misinterpreted since day one-—completely invalidating the current theories of cosmology which use it to (erroneously) calculate distances, velocities and masses of distant galaxies etc.

I am a believer in the Standard Model of Particle Physics, as well as Special Relativity and probably General Relativity too.

The bogus part is when they try and usurp the term: “Standard Model” and apply it to something entirely different in the field of cosmology.

This is a huge scandal in physics, IMO.

On top of all this, it irks me to see the charlatan Stephen Hawking try and apply his garbage theories to God.

BTW, parts of his black hole theories dealing with radiation escape have been invalidated in the mainstream journals.

The Big Bang, in reality, is just a TV show.

to utter the phrase "we don't know".

Hence the phrase "dark matter", they are basically saying they don't know what is accounting for the additional mass that would account for the additional gravitation. Dark matter is just the term they use, everyone wants to get into a argument over semantics.

>>Dark matter and energy is a plug to hide the fact that the Big Bang Theory (not the TV show) is DEAD WRONG.<<

How quaint! Psycience today uses the universe to describe mythematics. If the universe fails to confirm the mythematical prediction, we simply invent new invisible, yet to be detected psycho-physical constructs to explain why the observed universe is wrong and the mythematics are correct!

In the old days, mathematics was used to describe the universe. But those days are long gone...can’t find good old fashioned science in climatology, physics, astrophysics, biology, you name it.

his theory that fixes Newtonian physics instead of postulating the existence of dark matter and dark energy

seems like changing the math would be preferable to multiplying the existence of non-observable entities beyond necessity

It beggars belief, the idea that dark matter and energy make up 95% of the universe. Then that these things are affecting each other gravitationally, but cannot be otherwise detected. We used to call people that made these sorts of claims charlatans.

Neither Dark Matter nor Dark Energy matters!
Only BLACK Matter and BLACK Energy matters you misogynist, racist, homophobe! Black Holes Rule!

And...We have a winner!

It has always seemed obvious that the variations in space-time were ignored.

What is the speed of light in the absence of a gravitational field?

The same applies to the use of “singularity”. It’s a catchall term for the lack of understanding.

A 5 ounce bird could not carry a one lb. coconut.

But then, of course an African swallow is not migratory...so they couldn't bring a coconut back, anyway.

I don’t seem to be able to figure out your writing.

I don’t see this as proof of God.

I see this as proof that you’re an idiot.

Bless you.
