Interesting... I knew someone who died from that same type of cancer, and never smoked a day in his life.

That certainly happens, yes.

I had an uncle that died (WW2; USMC-Pacific) from liver cancer and he never drank a drop of alcohol in his life.

I’d like to see cancer eradicated in my lifetime, but I don’t think it is likely.

It is the great equalizer, isn’t it... it’s random, it’s awful, and it’s lethal.

And I’ll add - it sucks.

In many ways, the medical community is no closer to curing cancer, or at least certain cancers, today than it was 100 years ago.

Plus being in a war seems to lop a chunk of years off of one’s life. I have only 1 relative that I can think of that was a combat vet that made it past 62-63.
