I have to admit it. I love me some IHOP pancakes. Breakfast is one of my favorite meals to eat at restaurants, though its funny, because Im normally a savory foods girl. I like to order chicken fried steak, bacon or eggs. BUT theres always an exception when we go to IHOP. I always get their pancakes. They are amazeballs!
I found this copycat version from a blog off Pinterest and read all the reviews. They were all great and everyone said they loved them. Some commented they were better than IHOPs. So that was the seller to me. I printed off the recipe and made them for dinner. (I love breakfast for dinner, too 😀 )
We absolutely loved these pancakes. And I agreed with the reviews. They were BETTER than IHOPs. Maybe its because they were homemade and who knows what the restaurant puts in theirs (not that I care because Ill still eat them). But this copycat version was great. Kallen will even tell you so. He had 3 that night and 2 the next morning for breakfast. 😀
IHOP Pancakes (copycat) Author: Holly Prep time: 10 mins Total time: 10 mins Serves: 4 servings
Fluffy and delicious homemade pancakes that taste like the ones from IHOP restaurant! Ingredients
1¼ cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
⅛ teaspoon salt
1 large egg, beaten
1¼ cups buttermilk
2 Tablespoons butter, melted
3 Tablespoons sugar
Instructions
In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
In a small bowl, combine egg and buttermilk. Whisk together until blended. Add to flour mixture, stirring only until smooth. Add melted butter and sugar to batter and whisk until combined.
Heat a griddle or nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Grease griddle with cooking spray or butter.
Drop ¼ cup batter on pan and spread into a 5-inch circle. Cook until bubbles begin to form on surface and edges begin to brown. Gently flip and continue to brown other side. Repeat with remaining batter.
Serve with butter and warm syrup. Enjoy!
Yeah we don’t do potatoes, pasta, beans etc. hubby does eat 1 banana a day. He’s not much of a fruit eater so that’s it for him. He misses rice. He loves rice. Lol
Piles of Crispy hash browns w/onions, velveeta, smothered in fluffy sausage gravy, a few runny eggs (poached are best) with Tabasco drizzled. Side of bacon just because, French toast w/butter and Maple Syrup. Toast, juice and coffee. Maybe not all at once. Breakfast for a normal man. Probably cost $25 bucks at a restaurant anymore, can make it for just a fee bucks.
Yep, all of the canned or jarred spaghetti sauce have so much sugar (corn syrup) it tastes like tomato candy. Blech. I just make my own, it’s cheaper. I will say this, all the inflation and el-cheapo products in the twee containers these days, had to really learn to cook from scratch to get something edible. Cutout soda and “fast food” and save a bundle.
As one gets older, by in large, we all become less able to process the amount of sugar and carbs in the typical American diet. Breakfast is one of the most carb/sugar laden meals of the day. I skip or have vegetable juice anymore.
The why is that I eliminated meat, except for fish, from my diet and my A1C had risen to 6.2. I reversed it by eliminating sugars, most grains and starchy vegetables. I now only eat fish and carbs that are in non-starchy vegetables and my A1C went down to 5.0 in 30 days. My cholesterol has dropped from 225 to around 100.
There's a coffee shop at the local airport which serves them topped with grilled onions and green peppers. Amazing!
A two pound bag of frozen hash browns is four bucks; three bucks for Kroger brand. That's about 30-40 cents a serving without the hassle of processing them or cleaning up the mess. And when I fry them they are as good as or superior to using fresh potatoes.
Some food is better fresh and some food isn't worth the bother.
I drink coffee until 11 AM and go straight to lunch. If I want breakfast I have it for dinner.
Thank you!

You are following eating habits which will help you prevent from becoming Diabetic type II. I began avoiding carbs for 14 hour periods 6 days/week, and my sugar levels became normal.
Eating pancakes is a pleasure which lasts 15 minutes.
Avoiding excess low quality carbs will benefit you 24-7 by feeling good AND looking good.
We fix this breakfast 4-5 times a week. Use onion chopper to chop up red onions, jalapeno peppers, red peppers, yellow peppers, peeled garlic from a jar, fresh spinach, fresh tomatoes. Saute until tender. Spread scrambled eggs on top, and when eggs are half cooked, sprinkle grated cheddar cheese.
Eaten with toasted seedy bread. Side dish is sauteed red potato, after microwaving until tender then chopped in small cubes. Both items get a mix of iodized salt, curry powder, cumin powder, paprika, and oregano flakes.
Oh, I agree 100%, it’s just my scam-o-meter pegs when I look at the markup. A 5 or 10 lb bag a spuds is so cheap.
.... Some would be shocked, shocked! at the amounts of HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP (HFCS) were taking in!....................
That too, for sure.
Try the granulated stevia-based sugar blend sweetners, like Truvia. A lot less sugar. My diabetic husband can have it in moderation without spiking the blood sugar.

30 grams or less daily. I get to eat all the eggs, meat, and cheese I want. I work heavy construction. I miss milk
Construction workers tend to gain weight because they consume the wrong kind of cooking oil, often a lot of it. Cooking with high oleic sunflower oil or refined coconut oil solves that problem.
