WASHINGTON — The White House said on Monday that President Trump would leave in place a 2014 Obama administration order that created new workplace protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
In a statement issued in response to growing questions about whether Mr. Trump would reverse the Obama order, the White House said the president was proud to embrace gay rights.
“President Trump continues to be respectful and supportive of L.G.B.T.Q. rights, just as he was throughout the election,” the statement said. “The president is proud to have been the first ever G.O.P. nominee to mention the L.G.B.T.Q. community in his nomination acceptance speech, pledging then to protect the community from violence and oppression.”
The decision to keep the order, the statement added, was Mr. Trump’s. It uses stronger language than any Republican president has before in favor of equal legal protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, though that is not likely to quiet Mr. Trump’s critics on the left.
The move could also anger conservatives who had hoped a Republican president would end some socially liberal policies.
While Mr. Trump remains opposed to the right of same-sex couples to marry, he has been more open to it than many in his party. But there could be another political cost to his decision: On the eve of the announcement of his pick to fill the vacant seat on the Supreme Court, it could reopen the divisive debate over same-sex marriage and transgender rights, and subject his nominee to more scrutiny over his or her views on those issues.
The Obama order banned companies that do federal work from discriminating against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees. It was the first time the government explicitly protected federal workers from discrimination based on gender identity.

Looks like the White House just poured a big old bucket of cold water on the lastest attempt at fake smear news started this morning.
Currently there are disturbances in the force of much more concern than gay anything, so I understand the President would want to concentrate his attention, and address those issues rather than get into it with the cult of self interest.

Me neither. As far as the ridiculous notion of being transgender goes, one might as well support unicorn rights or the rights of people who think they are Teddy Roosevelt. It’s absurd. A complete denial of reality. It’s sad to see doctors accepting this nonsense as if there really could be someone born in the “wrong” body. They are supposed to be scientists.

“Just Laws” can never give special protections to people who sodomize others or want to mutilate and drug their bodies. It turns our “Justice” system into a Vice system and removes “Right Reason” from our legal system (which is unconstitutional) .
As the Father of American Jurisprudence (Marshall) stated, a “Just Law” can ONLY promote “public virtue”, not irrational, dysfunction, or vile behaviors that are caused by child abuse and neglect. That is promoting child abuse and neglect and models Afghani behaviors where pederasty is the norm. Evil “Just laws” (oxymoron) destroy virtue formation in children and that is why the evil Marxists twisted our Language so they could flip 2000 years of ethics to the pagan, satanic ethics of islam and Marxism where humans can be used as a Means—in irrational, vile ways.. PS - To all, so there’s no confusion. I think when the govt gained the control of licensing marriage, it was inevitable that this outcome would come about. I don’t disagree that it’s time for a revival, but people of the past should have never allowed the govt to institutionalize marriage.
Let all the other fake Conservatives die on this mountain. Trump is fighting every other battle on his own so if he thinks not taking up this fight will help him win the others then so be it. The people have to stay behind Trump. As Rush said, the people are all he has
