I've been having problems loading pages on Freerepublic for over a week. I thought it was just my connection (I live in the sticks and use a my-fi ATT hotspot for all my internet.
However, I have the exact same problem at my work computer in downtown Louisville on a high speed corporate network.
The problem manifests itself at least two ways: 1. Pages take so long to load that they timeout and I get a "page reset" message. 2. A partial page loads (often just the first line or two) and then eventually the rest starts showing up in chunks.
Nothing else on the internet in either location hs having any such (or similar) problem.
On a side note. If I log out and just view anonymously, I get to see the first part of the article under the title. But when I log in, I only see titles. This became the default a couple of months ago and when I go to the page to change my settings, no option is given to do so. Just a bunch of darkly colored horizontal bars that look like "partially loaded" buttons with no label.
Anybody else having these problems
It’s not just you. When it peaks I just go do other things.
Happens to me, too. I just go with the flow.
I am having NO problems with Free Republic!
1. Clear your cache 2. restart your modem and computer. see if that helps.
Are you sure it isn’t the Russians? (sorry. someone was going to make this ridiculous comment.)
I have the same problem.
titles vs titles + some body text is a choice on the page.
I’ve noticed this over the last few days too.
Yesterday was bad, but so far today not bad at all.
Same problem here, and I have really fast internet. It has been like this for me since the site went down a few weeks ago.
Okay everybody, listen up.
What’s going on is nothing to joke about.
A contact inside the
;-)
I would suggest running a good antivirus program and spyware is possible also. I have been fighting a trojan for weeks and am to the point I am going to shut own and freshness the stupid windows 8
Are you logged on?
This issue started when some (broken) hardware was replaced at the server co-location facility.
Me too. First forum page loads quickly but homing in on a thread or replying takes a long time to load. A slow down somewhere for sure.
It's the North Koreans...they're closer to Fresno than the Russians.
Been the same for me just since the site came back up.
I suspect it's not fully "up".
Yup, I think it’s the Russians too. I keep getting error messages in Cyrillic and an occasional pop-up video praising the President-Elect.....
