Michio Kaku has made a name for himself as a world-leading theoretical physicist unafraid to speak his mind.
Kaku, the Henry Semat Chair and Professorship in theoretical physics at the City College of New York, has published more than 70 articles in physics journals on topics such as supersymmetry, superstring theory, supergravity, and hadronic physics.
His latest claim is likely to make waves in the world of science.
“I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence”, Kaku says in a video produced by Big Think. “To me it is clear that we exist in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.”
Big Think, a media site launched in 2007, has been described as YouTube for ideas. But it’s actually more like TED.
You can watch the video and see for yourself why Kaku believes science points to an intelligent creator who formed the universe. (I’m certainly not going to try to explain it.)
Reasoning aside, Kaku’s conclusion is pretty is clear.
“The final solution resolution could be that God is a mathematician,” says Kaku. “The mind of God, we believe, is cosmic music. The music of strings resonating through 11-dimensional hyperspace.”
I was absolutely shocked that in the intro to a recent college text, “Biological Psychology,” started with the premise that very few universes could support life and listed perfections that if even slightly changed would have prevented life on earth.

Do you have a reference? While the “Big Bang” singularity is not Biblical, infinity in the creation, the aftermath of the condensation of matter as the metronic size contracted is the Biblical equivalent.
The spherical construct of Earth was argued by Thales w/o formal proof around 600 BC. Later Anaximander extended the concept of sphericality to all Planets. Both Aristotle and Galileo, among others, supported the concept. But realistically, the formal proof belongs to the the Portuguese Seafarers, such as Magellan, who circumnavigated the globe.
Famous? I never heard of this person before.

It is included in Nachmanides’ commentary on the Torah, in which he says, “At the briefest instant following creation all the matter of the universe was concentrated in a very small place, no larger than a grain of mustard. The matter at this time was very thin, so intangible, that it did not have real substance. It did have, however, a potential to gain substance and form and to become tangible matter. From the initial concentration of this intangible substance in its minute location, the substance expanded, expanding the universe as it did so. As the expansion progressed, a change in the substance occurred. This initially thin noncorporeal substance took on the tangible aspects of matter as we know it. From this initial act of creation, from this etherieally thin pseudosubstance, everything that has existed, or will ever exist, was, is, and will be formed.”

Try entering ‘ramban big bang theory’ in a search engine. ‘Ramban’ is how Jews refer to a philosopher non-Jews usually call Nachmanides. A Jewish sage and philosopher known by a similar name, Maimonides, also described something akin to the big bang theory.

Forgive me for not paying attention to every single person the media decides is important. I grew up hearing about so many trivial (yet IMPORTANT!!) people that anymore it’s all just noise.

I’d never heard of him before. The phrase ‘world famous’ is itself world famous for being abused and in my opinion the man may well be famous in some circles but he’s not a household name like, say, Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift *IS* world famous. This guy? Not so much.
Another “celebrity” no one has ever heard of.
