Explanation: Why is Venus so different from Earth? To help find out, Japan launched the robotic Akatsuki spacecraft which entered orbit around Venus late last year after an unplanned five-year adventure around the inner Solar System. Even though Akatsuki has passed its original planned lifetime, the spacecraft and its instruments are operating so well that much of its original mission has been reinstated. In the featured image taken by Akatsuki late last month, Venus was captured in infrared light showing a surprising amount of atmospheric structure on its night side. The vertical orange terminator stripe between night and day is so wide because of light is so diffused by Venus' thick atmosphere. Also known as the Venus Climate Orbiter, Akatsuki has cameras and instruments that will investigate unknowns about the planet, including whether volcanoes are still active, whether lightning occurs in the dense atmosphere, and why wind speeds greatly exceed the planet's rotation speed.

What do Venus and Earth have in common that Mars does not? Atmosphere. Warmth. Volcanoes. Electromagnetic field. Molten iron core. Should these facts have an impact on the global climate fraud? Moreover, could petroleum by a product of having a molten iron core? I suspect so. In any case, there is no such thing as fossil fuel. Just another example of libtard control of language. Humans can not have thoughts for which there are no words and so libtards seek to avoid having their victims (hosts, if you will) become aware of the injury being committed. Hence, petroleum MUST be referred to as “fossil fuel” by the MSM at every mention. Our country, our society, our gummint, our very culture is become one lie propped against the next for so many decades getting rid of the corruption is truly a Hurculean task. Diverting the Potomac to run down Pennsylvania Ave (symbolically) would be one way to wash the putrid filth that coats everything in DC into the Bay.
We have before us a great challenge. Perhaps the greatest and most important in human history and we let ourselves be led by folks who can’t get to a microphone or camera fast enough to denounce the latest “conservative offense” to libtard sensibilities. All the while they wonder at Trump’s ability to survive the latest “trumped up” libtard attack. They are not stupid, they know what they are doing. They clearly think we are stupid and for tolerating these leaders as long as we have we are.
This is what Trump represents and explains his success. It has been clear for decades that we would coalesce around ANYONE that would take the libtards and MSM on. Will Trump perform and start the task of wiping the corruption off our gummint, our society, our culture? Probably not. Our hopes for him are probably out of reach for any mortal. Will we use Trump the way he should be used? One hopes. Use Trump to introduce the VOCBULARY to defeat the MSM and libtard lies. Alinsky (ridicule. Isolate, and destroy) anyone who is doing the libtard/MSM lying. Laugh at morons who use the term fossil fuel, as an example.
Ask them just what Earth and Venus have in common that Mars does not. Never forget that God created heaven and Earth. The Truth shall set us free when we are surrounded by a web of lies and corruption. “If you have but the faith of a grain of mustard you can tell (Herod’s) mountain to fly away and plunge to the bottom of the sea.”
The choice of the name might also have been a play on 暁星 "gyousei" or "morning star," which Venus often is, of course.
How and why in the H - E - double hockey sticks do you know that? :o)
Interesting

My screen name (chajin=person who studies Japanese tea ceremony) should give it away :-) OK, it's a bit more complicated than that.
There is another word for "dawn" in Japanese, akebono 曙, with the sun kanji on the left, and on the right the sun at the bottom ready to rise above the horizon of the earth, with the moon (written sideways) still in the sky.
I know this one for two reasons. One is that there is a particular type of lacquering by that name, which is dark with faint red streaks, like the first light of the dawn, one of the many types of lacquering used in tea containers.
The other reason is that Akebono was the "ring name" of the first Hawaiian to achieve the top sumo rank of yokozuna, in the 1990s, though he was broke when he retired from the ring, and has become of all things a professional wrestler, a living example of the tragic movie Requiem for a Heavyweight.
I'm guessing the difference in temperature from the light and dark side causes a concurrent difference in gas pressures. The denser, cooler "air" rushes to fill the pressure differential of the warmer, thinner "air".
Venus just went through superior conjunction yesterday—so it just stopped being a morning star and became an evening star (but it won’t be visible after sunset until it’s further from the sun in the sky).
Just WOW!
I agree!
/rimshot (literally)
Thanks!
Would it be visible if we were on the underside of the earth? :-)
The wind velocity at the surface is vanishingly small (under 1 meter per second, less than 2 mph), and velocity doesn’t rise until miles of altitude (not Earthly at all); for Venus’ atmosphere is also opaque to sunlight, to the extent that zero sunlight reaches the surface; and the axial rotation of the planet is very slow, and retrograde.

GOTCHA.
Akebono wouldn't be the first, only or last athlete to end up broke. Happens a lot. Those men got too much too fast and didn't have sensible, reasonable people around him getting him to SAVE some money, put it into property and get ready for a LONG, LONG life after athletic success.
SUCH a shame.
The image is only 512 x 499 pixels.
I find it hard to believe Japan sent a flip-phone infrared camera to Venus...
